Kiera rubbed her eyes. Her head felt lighter. She scoffed remembering that she was inside another mind. She sat up. The sun was shining. Kiera massaged her temples.
Namjoon walked in and saw her awake. He smiled. Kiera just knew what to say everytime they talked. She didn't sugar coat anyword. She just gave genuine advice. She was a good friend."Hey ya Doc."
She said still looking outside tge window. It caught Namjoon off guard a bit. But he gave his usual, chuckle,
"You got good senses Kiera."
Kiera scoffed,
"You haven't met my team yet. They are better."
"Can't wait to meet them."
It was silence. Kiera was looking out of the window. It was fall. More importantly, tomorrow was her birthday. Her one leg was swinging out of the bed, while she was hugging the other tight and had her head on the knee.
Namjoon decided to lighten the situation,
"The weather's great today right?"
"Mm... Not a fan. I like either really cold or really rainy days. You know? I'm a pluviophile and chionophile. Diamond Unnie also loved winters. She didn't like the rain though... She thought the rain was way too moisty."
Kiera chuckled as a small tear escaped through her brown eyes. Memories. Good old memories.
Namjoon smiled,
"Tell me more Kiera... We are friends after all."
Kiera shrugged. Her eyes still fixed on the falling leaves. Ace. Ace was just like those leaves. He also had a time to fall. He fell for her. For her Unnies and Oppas.
Namjoon didn't have the heart to give up. He wanted to here her side of the stories. Their side of the stories.
"Kiera, tell me a story. Heard you are a great storyteller."
Kiera was silent. Her eyes still gazing outside the window. She just was seeing things through the eyes inside her heart. Namjoon sighed, if this would go around he would miss his round. He can't be careless with his duties. He got up and smiled at Kiera,
"I would be back when it's time for my break. Okay?"
Kiera just hummed. Honestly, to Namjoon she was always the calm before the storm."See you haven't eaten your meal Kiera."
Namjoon slowly walked inside her ward. The food was lying there, cold and untouched. Namjoon sighed. She got on everyone's nerves. Kiera just shrugged her shoulders,
"Wanna hear a story?"
"Sure, but promise me you'd eat your meal first."
"Whatever! Either I'm telling the story now or never. You better hear it."
"Fine. I'm all ears."
Kiera smirked, she inhaled a huge breath,
"Once upon a time, there was a girl. Her father was a merchant and her mother was a physician. She was a happy child. Her father and mother were just too much busy. They were never at home. She was just left all alone in a huge house. One day an enchantress showed up. That enchantress lured her out of her house by feeding her lies. The enchantress told her about a dinner table with many companions. She was enchanted. She didn't question much. The enchantress took her to a dungeon far far away. The dungeon was cold. But atleast she had 11 friends. They were somewhat happy. She was free, for the first time in forever. Then one day the enchantress decided to free 6 of them. She was heartbroken. She had lost her most trusty friend. The dimple boy. And then started the torment and torture. She was the unnie of the girls. She had to stay strong no matter what. The girls leaned on her. She was a mother to the girls. She cooked for them. She comforted them. After all she was the second oldest. She was fighting her way. She just held her friends close to her. Then one day they decide to choose their freedoms. They carve the enchantress' heart out. And they were the masters of their own will. They were happy."
She looked into Namjoon's dragon eyes. His gaze was intense,
"You narrated the story of Q.D or J?"
"Diamonds. Queen of Diamonds. Rings a bell?"
Namjoon closed his eyes shut. His head felt heavier. As if he was being transported to another portal. Kiera sensed something was off. She snapped hee fingers loudly,
"Wake up Doc! I know you are strong!"
Namjoon's breathing was fast and his face was red. Kiera comforted him,
"Diamond Unnie also went through some similar traumas. You know? But she always kept a poker face. Because Joker Unnie and I looked up to her. She was alone amidst a crowd. You know right that Diamond is the hardest material? She was the hardest of the bunch. She was a shield. Even Jungkook sometimes looked up to her. She was that Unnie. She comforted me and hugged me. She just made me feel better. She helped Joker Unnie in every thing. She cared for us. She just did. She was really strong."
"Tell me, how's Diamond? Is she still stubborn? Does she still give hard time to the person waking her up? I just wanna know!"
Namjoon was frustrated. His voice was broken. But Kiera just had to do it,
"Everything has a certain time for it Doc. I'll answer you when it's the right time."
Kiera walked to the window. Eyes still glued to far far away. Namjoon sighed,
"Make sure you eat well Kiera. I would check on you again."
He ordered a nurse to bring her a warm bowl of soup and glass of glucose. He left the room, but stole a small glance of Kiera. Kiera just smirked and acted as if she didn't notice Namjoon sneakily looking at her."Tae, have you met Kiera for interrogation today?"
Namjoon settled down in a soft chair in front of Taehyung. Taehyung was working on his files,
"No. She is turning into my obsession and addiction lately. But her everything is Ace..."
"Taehyung, it's worth a risk. Just try thinking less. Just let your heart do the work. Now, you need to be with her. We might find a lead. She has been narrating stories to us..."
"Narrate the stories to me. I was going to go see her now either ways."
Taehyung smiled. He wasn't using Kiera. Neither was he in love. It was just he felt empty without her. She was his some kind of ovsession. He knew it was illegal but it was worth the fun.
