My hands were clammy and my heart was racing. I bit my bottom lip as I stared at a nervous Chris...

'Sometimes....in life you have to take risks.' Mary's words rang out in my head.

Risks...like putting your heart out there to someone...who you truly thought would never even like but somehow dug their way through your heart and refuses to go.

"I'm gonna take the risk.." I said soflty, with a gentle smile on my face.

Chris' face broke out in a breath taking smile and he got up quickly, but I raised my hands up to stop him midway.

I hadn't finished yet!

"I'm gonna take the risk," I repeated. "But we're going to have to go slow. I'm going to try but I still have to try and eventually trust you."

Chris nodded slowly with the same smile on his face. "I understand...we'll take it slowly, you've been hurt before...specifically by werewolves," Chris had a dangerous glint in his eye at this point. "I think I'll need to have a little word with my friends when we get home."  

I guess he also still remembers about that little fight between me and his friends when I let the beans spill.

I stroked his face softly and his expression turned from murderous to calm. Wow....I have that much of an affect on him?

"Come on. We have to get ready. We have to leave soon." Chris said as he nudged my back. 

"I'm going, I'm going...."I mumbled.

I shuffled up the stairs and took a quick glance back at Chris to see him doing a little weird dance..... Ok.. I laughed softly and took the final steps up to my room.

I opened the door to find Mary looking up at me eagerly.

"Please tell me you gave him a chance!" She begged, and actually went on her knees."Please!" Now she was rolling around on the floor, staring up at me and her hands clasped togethor in a prayer kind of way.

I shook my head slightly, smiling and shut the door behind me.

"Is that why you gave me that cryptic advice yesterday?" I asked as I went to my closet and pulled out some clothes I hoped would last me a week.....better take extra, I thought and pulled out some more.

"Just tell me if you said yes." 

"Mmmmm, I don't know if I should tell you." I teased her going on to my tip toes to reach a big red bag, given to me by Mary, on the top shelf.

"Come on. Tell me. I gave you amazing advice." She said and I felt hands clasp around my ankles. I looked down quickly to find Mary giving me the puppy dog look.

"Mary, you know you look like a peadophile when you do that look."

Mary glared at me while I laughed and quickly stood up.

"Fine, don't eat me, jeez. I said yes ok." I told her, Mary screeched."But we are taking it slow...you know why." I gave Mary a knowing look and she gave me one back.

"I'm so happy. I have a good feeling about this relationship." She smugly said.

I shook my head and made my way to the bathroom to take a shower and get changed.

"Calm down Mary. It's not even your relationship." I quickly ducked as a pillow hit a spot on the door where my head would have been if I hadn't of ducked. "Sucker!" I yelled at her and ran into the bathroom and away from the glaring phsycho in my room.

"I'll see you in school tomorrow okay?" I said as I hugged Mary.

"Why not today."

"I have to settle in first, idiot." I laughed and smacked her on top of her head.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. You better be in school on tomorrow on Thursday."

"I will. See ya!" I said as I shoved her out the door. 

"I'm gone!" She yelled and walked out to her car. I took a deep breath and turned around to face my mum.

"Just because I have to be over there for the week doesn't mean I won't pop in and visit. Ok!!" I told her and she nodded. After a quick hug goodbye, no need to get tearfall, I'll be back in a week, I grabbed Chris' hand and ran to my car. Which my mum had gotten someone to get from school on Monday. 

Chris was driving because I didn't actually know how to get to his house and I sat in the passenger seat fiddling with the radio.

I was laughing along with Chris to a joke one of the presentors had just cracked when a car suddenly pulled out from the side road......and stopped right in front of us....leaving us with no time to react.

I raised my hands to my eyes...

A squeal of breaks.....

A loud bang, my head snapped forward sharpy sending a spasm of pain down my spine then quickly snapped back with a click. 

That's when everything went quiet

and dark.
