Chapter 39

"Hey, honey, don't cry. I'm not proposing yet." Biro niya sa dalaga .

Along with the crowd inside that restaurant, he laugh with them. Sinorpresa lang naman niya ang dalaga sa first anniversary nila.

May kinuha siya sa kanyang bulsa na matagal na niyang tinatago. He brought it the first time he felt the undeniable love towards her.

It's a velvet box with a necklace inside. For them, it was just a necklace but it mean everything to him. It's from his grandmother's jewelry, Courtney. And for him, that necklace symbolize his dream that cannot be granted.

Nanlaki ang mata mata ng dalaga, she look so shock and he find it cute. Chloe is really adorable.

"H-hey, I thought you're not proposing yet."

He chuckled. "Don't worry, I'm not giving you a ring yet."

Binuksan niya ang box, para ipakita rito ang kwentas.

She gasped upon seeing it, and he love her reaction.

It's a white gold necklace. May minimalist nan pendant ito na hugis eroplano, it was bath with pure diamonds.

"I dreamed to be a pilot. I want you to wear this. So that whenever I look at you, I am looking at my dreams." He said while straightly looked on her eyes.

And he wasn't lying about it. He can't see himself without Chloe in the future. She's the dream, and he's the dreamer.

"YOU will pursue your dream to be a pilot?" His father brows furrowed upon asking those words to him.

Bumisita siya sa kompanya nito. At sinabi niya ang kanyang plano. He took a lot of time thinking and reflecting to himself about pursuing his dreams. And upon seeing Chloe everytime, he just want to be the best for her. Gusto niyang maging karapatdapat dito.

He's a Benjamin, he was born healthy but he felt like he have no achievement at all. His own company might be higher than others but comparing to other Benjamins, his company is still small. He wanted to strive better, for himself. So if he could be a better man, he can be a better man for Chloe.

Damn, he got it whipped like a mad man.

"Yes, Dad. I've realized if Chloe pursued her dream to be a model, I'll pursue my dream to be a pilot."

Napatango-tango naman ang Daddy niya. Nasa magkabilang dulo sila ng mahabang mesa ng conference room.

"How about you pursue business? I thought you love business?" Tanong ng ama niya.

Napaisip naman siya doon.

He loves business. Nasa dugo niya lang ang pagiging negosyante. Tho it wasn't a dream for him because it was an easy thing to achieve. To be a business man. Siguro mas lalong gusto niyang maging pilot dahil natutuwa siya. Katulad ni Chloe na natutuwa rin sa modelling.

"I do, Dad. But I want to try something fun, something I'm happy at."

"Hmm. There's no bad about it, son." Pagsang-ayon ng ama.

Akala niya tapos na ang usapan nila. Not until her father type something on his laptop which connected to the big screen inside the conference.

And there he saw a compilation video of Chloe doing on a runway, photoshoot and even an interview. It seems familiar to him because he watched all of her video on the internet.

Kumunot ang noo niya. Hindi niya alam kung bakit iyon pinakita ng ama.

"What's that, Dad?"

The screen currently played where Chloe is doing a runway.

"Look closely, Hendrix. Every guy around who's watching her, what do you see on their eyes?" Tanong ng ama niya.

His jaw clenched upon seeing the desire and lust on their eyes which darted on Chloe. Fuck, if he will able to meet that guys, he will surely punch them on the face.

"There's so many threat, Hendrix. You trust your woman and she also to you. But the people around you cannot be trusted." Salaysay ng ama.

Tahimik lang siya at nakikinig sa ama niya. It does make sense to him.

Alam niya kung anong pinaghuhugutan ng ama niya para masabi ang mga salitang iyon.

Her mom was kidnapped while his brother, Helix was on her mother's womb, by her obsessed stalker. Dad wasn't around that time.

"Chloe is a beautiful woman. And she's not the type that you could just leave her somewhere. Because by the time you get back to get her, you will not find her where you leave her."

Tumiim ang bagang niya sa simabi ng ama. His father is right.

"But, if ever you'll leave her, you can do something that no one can have her. Mark her."

Kumunot ang noo niya sa sinabi ng ama.

"I won't leave her, Dad! Aside from business trip days, there are no other reasons to leave her."

His father look at him intently.

"You will. Watch this."

Napabaling ang atensyon niya sa screen ng magplay ang isang interview ni Chloe. Mukhang kanina lang iyon na take dahil nagpaalam ang dalaga na may interview ito.

"So, Miss Chloe, you just celebrated your 1st Anniversary with Mr. Hendrix Benjamin. Kumusta naman kayo?" Tanong ni Maiden Co, na host ng reality talk show.

"Okay naman, we're getting closer and  much more in love everyday." Sagot ng dalaga at agad itong namula ng humiyaw ang audience. Her adorable, Chloe.

But what's his father purpose why he hanted him to watch it?

"Do you have plans in the future? Or something like about getting married?" Tanong ni Maiden na ikinapula ni Chloe.

"Well, not really. Tho, I have my own plans. I would like to build a company on my own, I wanted to produce fragrance or something like perfume company? Alam ko naman kasi na hindi naman habang buhay nasa modelling." Sagot ng dalaga.

She didn't tell him about that. But he's not angry or something, he's even proud at her. To think that she's starting to build her future.

And he wanted to do the same.

Napawi ang ngiti niya ng pinatay ng ama ang screen kaya napabaling siya ng tingin dito.

"That's enough."

Napailing na lang siya. Akmang tatayo na siya ng magsalita ito.

"But we're not yet done talking."
