During transfiguration, Minnie threw a book down on the ground. Everyone groaned because of the loud noise. "Hopefully now, you all learn that you shouldn't be staying up this late. Ms. Potter," Jacey looked up. "Can you tell me the spell to make a small object into a quill? This you should know since it's review."
"I'm pretty sure Scribblifors," Jacey answered.
"Good, five points to Gryffindor."
Minnie continued with her lesson while Peter let the hangover really hit. Jacey knew it was his first time hungover so she supplied him with water throughout the day and coffee for breakfast. Then Minnie said there were going to be partners. Jacey's and Peter looked at each other but then Minnie said she was picking them out. They groaned but to Jacey's luck, she was partnered with Remus and Peter, a girl named Lucy.
"I'm too tired for this shit," Jacey muttered as she moved seats. "Hi, so we have to turn this matchbox into a bird, yay," Jacey said unenthusiastically.
"So, you get grumpy during full moons and during hangovers. Good to know." Jacey glared at Remus. "I think Avifors will do the trick." Jacey did the spell and the matchbox turned into a bird.
"Five points to Mr. Lupin and Ms. Potter for being the first to finish the spell," Minnie said as she came to look at the bird.
The rest of class, others tried the spell but most couldn't get their bird to move. When defense came up, Jacey just didn't want to pay attention. She already knew almost everything about the subject and could take the owls about it this year. Until she heard the word werewolves. Jacey pulled her head towards the board. It has the picture of a werewolf in transformation.
"Werewolves, nothing but monsters. They are very dangerous and are nothing but bloodthirsty beings."
He continued but Jacey zoned out like she had when her dad had told her she was a werewolf. She felt James' hand hold hers as he talked. He gave her a I'm sorry for this and we'll talk later look. Jacey looked at Remus and he had the same expression she had. She put her hand on his shoulder empathically. Jacey got an idea and set a pieces of paper on fire and levitated them across the room.
"Fire!" she hear Lily yell. Everyone jumped out and ran out. The Marauders all laughed since they knew Jacey did it. Jacey laughed as the professor's clothes caught on fire from one of the papers being purposely put behind his clothes.
After that class the Marauders all sat down in the dorm room. Jacey put her head on James' shoulder as they all sat down on the floor. "I can't believe he put werewolves like that," James said, mad. "I thought they all knew about you two and he just put werewolves like that. It's sick. Werewolves like you two learn to or want to control it."
"We have to get used to this though. I mean, we gotta be realistic and know no werewolf could get rights," Remus said.
"No, we can't just admit defeat. People won't listen now but one day we'll be old enough so we can't be silenced. I want my children to learn that everyone in the world has equal rights. If they're also werewolves, I want them to get good pay and have amazing jobs to whatever their heart's content. It's unfair that we get silenced. One day, people will learn that we have a voice and I can't wait for it to happen. With house elves rights, with werewolf rights and everything that doesn't have equal rights," Jacey said. She stood on the desk in front of the boys as she continued her speech. "We vowed to change the world. We haven't. The first step we need to take is getting our voice heard."
"But, Wolfie, we're just kids. No ones going to listen to us," Peter said.
"Did that stop us from changing the dress code rule?" The boys shook their heads. "Did it stop us from doing some very illegal things?" The guys smirked and said no. "So, these rights are just like that. Nothings stopped us before. Why now? Moony, you're the brains behind every prank, you have never gotten caught. Even though you're a prefect, did that stop you from pranking?" Remus smirked and shook his head. "I say, once I get outta this place, I'll become a part of the ministry and fight for my rights. Or become the first known woman werewolf quidditch player on a boys' team. We said we would change the world together and I can't change it without you four. Will you still accompany me in this mission guys?"
"Hell yeah!" they all yelled. Jacey felt pride in herself since she knew it was hard to get these guys this riled up about something like this but she did it. "And may the people who say no rot in Hell."
They all laughed and they all just sat there thinking of everything they could do in the future. Peter and Jacey sat next to each other as Peter looked inside a book about something Jacey didn't see since they were sitting back to back.
"Hey, Jace, you ever heard something bout mates before?" Peter asked. Jacey turned to see his book. "Yeah, you see, werewolves have this as the equivalence to soulmates. The werewolf wants to know everything about the other and doesn't want to let the other feel so lonely in the world. And during full moons the two never fight even though with others it's an instinct. Sound familiar?" Jacey took the book and looked at the page. Where is he getting at?
"Like this could be re-" She got cut off by Peter showing her the scientific proven statement. Jacey read the page. It was oddly like her and Remus. She gave the book back to a smirking Peter. "If you're implying something you're probably wrong."
"Who said I was implying anything? I just showed you something I learned." Peter looked at the flustered Jacey and turned back to his book. "Shame on you if you think I'm plotting something," Peter said mockingly. Jacey rolled her eyes and turned back her attention to her skateboard.
"Yo, JJ, pass me the duct tape," Jacey said as James threw the duct tape. "Ow! Not at the face, you idiot." James wasn't even paying attention and looked at Sirius, who was trying to balance a lot of things that shouldn't be balanced. Lyra came over to Jacey and Peter and sat down in Jacey's lap. "The chick loves me more, hah."
Sirius looked over and acted as if the chick betrayed him and killed him. "How dare you like your aunt Wolfie more than me. May as well just have you sign the adoption papers." Sirius threw jotted down something on several pieces of papers and threw them at Jacey. It mostly had the words saying Lyra Octavia Black was now Jacey Potter's child in big letters. "You've broken my heart in two, Lyra." He turned back and buried himself into James' arms. "Your sister has now taken my child."
"Wolfie, give our brother his child back," James said. "As you can see, he's heartbroken. I never thought you could do something so mean."
"I am the devil's sister," Jacey said. The twins laughed as she returned to her skateboard and Lyra. Jacey painted on her skateboard a full moon underneath and then Remus came over. "You like?" She held up the board.
"I don't understand how you can you love the one thing that can make you feel weak?" Remus asked her.
"It's simple, I think that the thing we fear can always be brought up as a strength. But for me, I don't fear the moon but love it really. For that one night, I get to be free and roam around and not have any restrictions. You remember how free you get the first time. It's an amazing feeling."
"It is," Remus whispered to himself.
Jacey sat down by the black lake with Peter when she saw Marlene she all near her. Peter threw a pencil to show that someone was coming. She looked over and saw Marlene.
"Hey, could I talk to you?" Marlene asked.
"I'll be out of your hair," Peter muttered as he got up.
"Would you ever consider dating?" Marlene just asked. She seemed nervous for once. "I mean, it's alright if you don't want to, but I really like you, and you were my first girl crush."
"I mean, if you would like to," Jacey said. "How about tomorrow around seven at night, we could go somewhere?"
"That sounds nice." Marlene gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Tomorrow it is." Marlene then left.
Jacey had this goofy smile. Peter then jumped out from behind a tree. "Wolfie finally has a girlfriend!" he cheered. Jacey pushed Peter.
