I had never been to Kurt and Kelly’s place before. Their house was kind of on the smallish side but their ‘workshop’ was like a factory.

“Hello? Kurt, Kelly?” I called out into the shed, amazed at all the tools and machinery and half-finished projects. One of the two, who I think was Kelly popped out from behind a row of shelves.

“Ah Cameo, perfect timing,” he strolled out his whole body taking up the aisle way.

“You were expecting me?” I asked, I had only decided to come this morning.

“Oh no no, but now that you are, would you be able to help us?” Umm that was a bit sudden.

“It really depends on what you need help with. Cleaning? I asked. He laughed and shook his head, but then became serious.

“We got this letter earlier this morning saying that we are going to get robbed. At the time we thought nothing of it but, then Lorrie told us about Star boy stealing her earrings and that he was in the newspapers. She also mentioned that you saw him.” You’re not kidding I saw him; I went and made a stupid bet with him. Oh this would be a perfect opportunity to catch him.

“Yes, he’s a slippery one, can I help, I don’t want him to get away this time,” I asked. We agreed to meet up at around ten thirty later that night. “Oh yeah the reason I came was I was wondering if you could do something for my kitchen,” I added remembering the whole point of the visit.

“What did you have in mind?” he asked grabbing a well-used note book.

“My kitchen is pitifully small; I was hoping to add an island bench with two or three stools so I could use it as a dining table. Nothing to elaborate,” I had saved enough money, plus the money dad had sent over, were all going towards improving my little shack.

“We’ll come over tomorrow and measure up and give you a quote,” sticking the pencil behind his ear. I nodded and took the long, horrible walk back, only to think I would be doing this again later.

Passing the time was no problem. I spent the rest of the day helping Jim clean out the fountain. It was a two person job, and he never trusted anyone to help in with the gardening. It took a few hours to drain the thing and then I took to the scrubbing. I laughed thinking back to about a month ago when I wouldn’t have even thought about cleaning my room, let alone a fountain.

“Cameo, go take a bath up at the mansion.” Finishing up I returned and grabbed my towel and toiletries and looked at my tiny shower. Oh how I hated that tiny thing.

I woke up to find the bath water now cold and the room dark. How long had I been in there? Hopping out, I looked at my watch. It was past ten. I quickly got changed and ran out down the path letting my hair fly behind me to dry.

I almost collapsed when I arrived. My hair had almost dried and I was seriously late. I knocked on the door of the shed and call out to let them know it was me.

“I’m so sorry I’m late I was just…” I puffed.

“Don’t worry, he hasn’t come yet, come and sit,” Kurt patted to the chair next him. I glanced up at the clock. Just past eleven. We waited talking about the type of style I wanted.

“He sure is taking his time,” I mentioned looking up at the clock again.

“What if he is stealing stuff out of our house?” Kurt said alarmed. “Cameo wait here,” they both jumped up and left the shed. I turned to look at the rest of the workshop. I heard the door open again behind me.

“Was he there?” I asked turning around. I stopped my eyes widen in surprise.  “You…” I was about to yell when he jumped forward and put his hand over my mouth.

“Hello good-looking,” he cooed. “Sorry about this,” he whispered apologetic.

“Sorry about what?” I asked. In an instant he had me on the floor and tied my hands behind my back and rested me against the wall. He did it so quickly I was stunned.

“Keep quiet, I won’t be long,” he gave me a look that I didn’t want to mess with. He left me there and wandered further into the shed behind some more shelves. I heard him scrabbling around.

“What are you looking for?” I asked ignoring his instructions. He didn’t answer but continue to move about out of sight. Why would anyone want to rob a tool shed? “Why are you a thief?” I enquired my arms already starting to ache. He came back with a bag full of his loot and kneeled in front of me. He lifted my head so that I could see his amusement in his gorgeous silver eyes.

“That’s the prize, remember,” he chuckled. His hand slid across my cheek and down to my shoulder where he took some of my hair. He ran his fingers through it and smiled. “I like you having your hair out, it’s cute,” I would have slapped his hands away if they weren’t tied up. We both turned to the sound of the approaching twins

“We better tell Cameo not to worry,” I heard one of the twins outside.

“Well I suppose we will have to meet again, try harder next time my lady,” he chuckled and slipped out the door. The twins returned to find me tied up on the floor. What didn’t they see him?

“Cameo, are you ok?” they asked. Seriously did I look like I was ok? They untied me and helped me up as I explained that he was so fast I wasn’t able to see what he took. “He’s taken some our carpentry tools. Sorry we left you alone; we didn’t mean this to happen. Let us drive you home, he might still be out there.” I arrived home just before midnight. That damn thief how dare he!
