(Soleil's POV)
It took a few hours before Tony appeared in her room again, but was soon dragged back out by Rhodey. Apparently Tony decided it was okay to excuse himself from the debriefing before it was over, which in turn made him suffer longer since they had to extend it. Soleil did her best not to find enjoyment in Tony's suffering but she could not help but laugh after Tony and Rhodey left the room.
Another hour passed and Marsha came back into the room to tell her that they would be landing in an hour and that she wanted to do the final check up before then. The doctor advised that she takes a shower first and offered to help Soleil out, which she accepted.
It was not often that Soleil got pampered and not in the 'I want to be spoiled' type of way. But in a way that someone shows affection and care for another, and that is what she felt as Marsha helped unwrap bandages before entering the shower. Marsha helped wash Soleil's body and hair being mindful to not scrub on the burns and lacerations too hard.
But the doctor was surprised about Soleil's pain tolerance as she seemed to be able to walk just fine on her feet -tippy toes- despite the first degree burns. After, Marsha redid her bandages before she put back on her medical gown. Since Soleil would receive her change of clothes when they land, Marsha proceeded to do her check up when they got back to the room.
Checking all her vital signs which appeared to be normal compared to when the lifted off, was good improvement. So, she deduced that the IV drip was no longer necessary. Marsha checked her feet and saw the that the layer of skin was almost healed already.
Soleil could sense the curiosity from the woman but Marsha never bothered to ask her any question about it. Instead the doctor just wrapped her feet up with new bandages and said that she would most likely not need them earliest by tomorrow morning.
Soleil's arms and shoulder were in the same state though, but she could tell her regenerative powers seemed to be working from the bottom up at the moment. Which made sense because her first degree burns were easier to heal than four bullet wounds.
"Alright, Soleil. I can't give you a clear bill of health but your condition is stable to discharge you. With your high pain tolerance as well, you did not even seem fazed by the warm water against your burns. I apologize again about that." Marsha said because she accidentally made the water too hot at one point though Soleil did not show any sign of discomfort, she did tell her to lower the temperature just a bit.
"It's not a problem. I like the warm temperature." Soleil shook her head and smiled.
"Then you will love California. You have never been, right?"
"I have not. I travelled a lot on the other side of the pond, but not this side. So, it's a first for me."
"Well, this is practically Mr. Stark's stomping grounds. Or more specially Malibu, I believe. Either way, I'm pretty sure he will show you a good time. Within the limits of your injuries for now."
"I hope so." Soleil said, hiding her true thoughts on the matter from her smile.
Attention! We are beginning our decent. I repeat. We are beginning our decent.
"And this is where I take my leave." Marsha stood up. "It was really nice meeting you, Soleil."
"You as well, Marsha." Soleil grinned. "I hope we have a chance to meet again."
"Yes. And hopefully under better circumstances." Marsha giggled.
"Hopefully." Soleil giggled as well, waving to Marsha as she left the room.
It did not take long for Soleil to feel the aircraft's wheels connecting with the ground and hear the engines slowing down. Despite her lion ears not being out, her human ears still shared the same capabilities on having heighten hearing. Her attention soon turned to the door where she heard a knock coming from the other side.
