The Holidays Bring Festivities

(Soleil's POV)

Even with 'The Battle of Greenwich' being over a week ago, reporters still held up and spared no waking moment as they practically camped outside of the Avengers Tower. Soleil eventually took to holding a press conference, just because she was getting annoyed but the conference itself ended up bothering her even more as the reporters kept on asking the same questions over and over again.

Soleil was basically stuck on repeat until she answered the same question at least several times, and it was only when Tony stepped in to join did she unhinge her jaw but -thankfully- he only came to rescue her. Ending the conference as soon as he stood behind her and rubbed her shoulders for comfort before informing that any press member who refuses to vacate the Tower will be not too kindly escorted out by security.

Soleil could definitely say that security detailing was tighter as of mid-November, which she made sure to run by Happy who had come to help out with managing all that for them.

Other than those tedious issues, Soleil did receive news from Jane that Thor had indeed returned two days after the battle. Soleil was a little peeved that Dr. Foster waited almost a whole week to inform her of this but just let it slide because she did not want to add any unnecessary stress onto herself if she could help it.

She told Jane to pass a message to Thor; telling him to stop by when he gets the chance, but other than that; they should enjoy the holidays together before hanging up.

The Stark Relief Foundation basically covered majority of the repair for the college but left anything outside of that to the city, they were generous but not dumb. 10 or even 5 years ago, Soleil could never imagine handing over a check with more than 4 zeros on it but the check donated to the Old Royal Naval college had 7. Then again, the check given for the repair of New York had two more than that.

As for the clean-up of Greenwich, Fury indicated he had a team from SHIELD assigned to do that and that they should not worry. Anything and everything that was other-worldly was contained marked 'hazardous' and shipped off to who knows where.

Soleil got in touch with Steve and basically gave him a run down from her point of view, as he would have most likely seen what the News outlets have released. He was happy enough that there was not many casualties and over the fact of Thor being back. "Another pair of hands, should times get tough." Steve told her and Soleil nodded to herself in agreement.

She asked how he was doing and settling into the 21st century, which he stated that slowly but surely he was getting there. He spoke on how SHIELD has been keeping him busy enough to distract him, working alongside Natasha and/or the Strike Team on a couple of missions but other than that he stuck to training and integrating while trying to keep up with the times.

Soleil questioned where he was off to next, making a half joke/half telling the truth that Steve seemed to be fine with being commanded around. Also questioning if he knew it in 'complete transparency' what he actually was doing and what it was for. But Steve being Steve, kept to his ways of loyalty while putting his faith in SHIELD, and Soleil did not press him on the matter afterwards.

He answered that he would be off to Washington, D.C soon -a scowl graced Soleil's features at the thought of that State with too many annoying memories there- where the SHIELD headquarters; Triskelion was located. SHIELD offered him a place to stay, and that he had someone to visit there.

Soleil questioned if he had an old friend or if he found himself a significant other, but Steve just laughed her question off and warned her to not be like Natasha who's been trying to set him up with someone for awhile now.

She let out a laugh of her own before wishing him safe travels and good luck on his future missions, also telling him to say hi to Nat for her as she has not seen or heard from the Russian spy since Tony's disappearance/'death' last Christmas.
