(Soleil's POV)

Soleil spends the next two and half weeks -still- on the phone. Though this time she is in discussions with the Department of Damage Control and the government officials from Nigeria, in order to figure out the damage expenses as well as the repair work needed.

Her right hand was clenched into a tight fist on top of her desk as she sat back in her chair while holding the phone to her ear in her other hand. "Yes, but...No, Sir. I'm just saying..."

"You can't put all the blame on...She should not be....It was an unfortunate accident. Yes....Yes...Of course, it is one that we are trying to provide aid and resources to help with. Yes...but you can't—" Soleil had to suppress the urge to groan at the man over the phone who kept trying to pin the blame on the Avengers, specifically Wanda as if Rumlow and his men should not be held accountable as well.

She felt her claws digging into her palm before she heard a slight knock on her door and soon saw Pietro popping his head in after opening it. "Sorry, Soleil. Are you busy?"

"Yeah... Can you give me a moment?" Soleil said into the phone before moving it away from her ear and using the same hand to put the call on hold. She let out a long sigh before looking at Pietro with a lopsided smile. "Is there something you need, Pietro?"

"Oh...Uhm.." Pietro stepped into the room but did not really move further in after that. "I just came to check in on you. Uh...see how everything is going....If my sister and I will be okay."

"Pietro... I promise I'll try my best...But I can't offer you more than that." Soleil said unable to mask the hurt/tired expression she had on her face.

Pietro was kind enough to offer an expression of understanding and even joked a bit. "I guess it is too late to ask for your help on getting our American citizenship, right~."

He left the room with a small wave before Soleil could respond if she even had a response to give when Pietro was more stating a fact rather than questioning it. Soleil began to feel moisture beneath her right hand and she looked down to see a small pool of blood coming from the puncture wounds she was causing herself.

She just furrowed her brows and retracted her claws but still kept her fist closed, giving herself a reminder to tend to the cuts later before she opened the line back up. "Sorry for the wait, I'm back....Yes, Sir...No, Sir...You don't understand—You are not getting the point!! The casualties could have been far worst if the Avengers had not interfered!!"

During the last half of that week, Soleil was visited by Rhodey more often than not. He provided her food and drinks with each visit as she barely left the office these days.

"Good morning, Sol." Rhodey greeted her in the morning after having knocked on the door and entering upon Soleil's beckoning. "I brought you some apple juice and oatmeal. Hopefully, you'll be able to keep this down. It's a Rhodes' homemade recipe~."

Soleil looked up from her pile of paperwork and smiled sheepishly. "Thanks, Rhodey. Really, you don't need to keep doing this."

"I know but I wanted to. Someone has to take care of you two with Pepper gone and Happy held up at Tower, that leaves me at the plate." Rhodey shrugged.

"Rhodey..." Soleil sighed fondly as her friend approached her and set the tray down on top of the plethora of documents she currently was going through and needed to go over.

"You need to eat something, Soleil. You've barely been able to keep anything down these past few weeks." Rhodey said, looking at her with concern.

"You've noticed?" Soleil grimaced at that, knowing it was true.
