You bond with Bucky while the others are away on a mission.

Warnings: nightmares. I think that's it.

Written from the point of view of Ada. The next part will be longer and have some drama with Steve

I woke up to a voice calmly saying my name, and a gentle hand on my head. I sat up, feeling the hot tears all over my face, and sweat everywhere else. My breathing was heavy; making my chest rise and fall dramatically. That all adds up to a nightmare. Shit.

I turned to tell Steve I was sorry, only to see someone else. That's right; Steve's off on a mission for a few days. "Bucky?" I asked, unsure if it was okay to call him that.

He sighed softly, making me wonder how long he had been trying to wake me up. "Ada, thank God you woke up. I've been trying for a couple minutes now. Are you okay?" His eyes told me he knew something about my nightmare. Maybe I was saying things in my dream-state.

I wiped away the tears and took a deep breath, "I'm alright. Sorry I woke you up. This happens sometimes." I admitted.

He looked sad, "Do you want to talk about it? I know I'm not Steve, but I'm a good listener."

I looked into those eyes and was calmed instantly. "It was just a stupid nightmare; about a mission gone wrong. People died." I said softly, leaning against the headboard.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Those always suck, you can never do enough to save people." He said and stroked my hair cautiously.

"Yeah, it was awful. I'm sorry I got you pulled into this. Usually Steve hears me quickly, and he talks me down or wakes me up."

His sympathetic face told me he knows the feeling all too well. "It's alright. I don't mind. I'm glad I could pull you out of it. I understand."

He smoothed my hair again, "Let me go get you a glass of water. It might help." He offered.

I gave him a soft smile, "Okay, thanks."

He went off on his mission, and was back only a moment later. I thanked him and drank some of it.

He moved like he was going to leave. "Bucky?" I asked almost in a whisper.

His face was soft and caring. "Yeah?"

I wanted him to stay longer, because I didn't want to be alone. But we don't have that relationship. So I sighed, "Thank you. For all of this."

He nodded, a small smile on those plump lips I have so often thought about.

"Anytime, Ada. I hope your dreams get better. I'm just down the hall if you need me, okay?"

I nodded back at him, "Thanks. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, sweetheart." And he walked out of the door quietly.

He is someone I have been curious about since Steve told all of us he was alive. Then I got to meet him, and developed a liking of him.
