My Bucky Pt. 1 (B.B. Fluff)

Been VERY MIA on everything. But here's one I sat on for a while.

You have a daughter - her father passed when she was an infant. You have been dating Bucky for a while now, but you've been hesitant on having him be extremely involved. You go off on a mission with the team, leaving your daughter with Pepper. But it doesn't go as planned.

POV is mainly Bucky. 'Your' name is Hailey in this.

Hailey/Your POV
I kissed Lily's head again, then smoothed her messy curls. I haven't left her to do work for the Avengers yet, until now. And I'm a nervous wreck. Pepper is watching her for me, since she will be here with Morgan.

"You be a good girl for Pepper, okay?" I asked her. She nodded, "Yes, mama." I exhaled, holding in a sob, and bent down to hug her one more time. "Okay. I love you so much. I'll see you in a few days."

I left her with Pepper, and she immediately seemed to be comfortable. She barely noticed I left the room. I went down the hall to meet with the team.

Bucky was waiting for me to say goodbye. I smiled and wrapped my arms around him happily. "Be safe, sugar. Okay? Don't worry about Lillian, Pepper will take care of her and I'll check in on them as well. You focus on the job." He said softly, but I knew he was serious. His fear is me getting injured because I'm distracted.

"I'll do my best, honey. Thank you so much for agreeing to check in on her. I know we haven't exactly crossed into that territory with you and her yet. So it means a lot to me."

He kissed my lips then smiled down at me, "I adore, Lily. I'm happy to just make sure she's okay while you're gone."

"I have to go..." I pouted and kissed him, "I love you, call if you need me." He chuckled and stole one more kiss before letting go of me. "I love you, sugar. Come home soon."

Bucky POV
It's now the second day of Hailey being gone. I'm on my way to Pepper's apartment space after she had FRIDAY call for me. I'm a bit concerned something is wrong.

"Hey, Bucky. Thanks for coming so quickly. Um, when she got up a bit ago, she was sluggish but I didn't think much of it. It's only the second morning away from her mom after all. So when I went to clean her up from breakfast I felt her head was a bit warm." She sounded worried as we walked in.

Lily was on a chair cuddling her blanket by herself. "Oh no, do you know what's wrong?"

"Well, I took her temperature. It's 101.5. And I'm just... worried she's sick, and that Morgan will get it. With Morgan being so tiny and young it could get bad."

I nodded and walked over to Lily. Her little eyes were droopy and cloudy as they met mine. She gave me a weak smile, "Bucky."

I smiled back and offered her my hands. She quickly jumped up into my arms. Her entire little body was warm. I kissed her head as she snuggled into my neck and metal arm. "Hi, sweetie. Are you okay?"

"No. I'm yucky." She pouted, sounding like she might cry.

"I would hate for her to get Morgan sick. I'll uh... I'll take her."

Pepper looked grateful. "You would really do that?"

I nodded, "Of course. I've got her now. Thank you, Pepper for calling for me instead of Hales. She would abandon the mission."

She laughed. "I figured that. And it should be only another two or three days before she's back."

"Exactly. I'll get her out of here."
