What happens when you find out more about your past? How does Bucky fit in? How does Steve actually fit into your past life?

Warnings: Lies, betrayal, crying, memory loss.

Second and final part. Still written from the point of view of Penelope.

Even confused the dark hair guy in front of me was handsome. I couldn't deny that one bit. He seemed familiar, but no memories came flooding back. Though this strange feeling did surface, I wasn't sure what to make of that.

"Penelope? You're really here? You're still alive?" He moved closer.

I nodded, still gauging him. He seemed lost, but also surprised and happy. "Yeah, I'm alive. Steve has told me a lot about you."

His jaw flexed and he nodded slightly as he studied me.

Before I could say anything Steve walked in. "Hey, I see you two found each other."

He put an arm around my waist making me smile up at him before kissing his cheek, "Hey, you. Yeah, just a moment ago he walked in."

"We uh... should get moving." Steve sounded awkward.

"Alright, let's go, honey." I smiled.

Bucky gave him a look; to me it looked like betrayal and anger but I didn't know about what.

On the jet I went to sit by Bucky. "Hey, how you holding up?" I asked softly.

He smiled, those deep blue eyes felt so familiar. "I'm just in awe that you are alive. God.. we were probably held in the same place and I never knew. What did they even do to you?" His voice threatened to crack.

"I don't remember, honestly. But whatever it was they took away my memories, and kept me exactly the same as I was in the 40's I guess. I woke up only knowing my name. They told me they wanted to let me adjust to being awake then they'd train me, but Steve and the others saved me before it happened."

His face fell. "You don't have any memory of me? Of knowing me before?"

I shook my head, "No, not really. I didn't with Steve either. But the more time I spent with him the more I remembered. Though, there are still holes and fuzzy parts. There are things he can't exactly fill in for me either."

He nodded, his jaw clenching and unclenching as he fussed with his metal fingers. "I'm sorry to hear that. I hope... I just hope you're happy."

My head tilted in confusion at how genuine, sincere yet hurt he sounded.

"Penny, doll, can you come here?" Steve asked suddenly.

I looked up and he was watching me with Bucky in the mirror. I smiled, "Be right there. Uh, I'll see you around, Bucky. Don't be a stranger okay? I would like to remember our friendship too."

"Right. Of course."

(In this they dealt with Zemo but the whole fight with Tony didn't happen because I need them to all be in the same place)

The night after we returned from them going after Zemo I 'went on a walk' but really just sat on the balcony outside the living room of the compound. I wanted fresh air, and to be alone. Steve hasn't left my side since Bucky arrived.

I heard Bucky storm in, looking for Steve. "How could you be so selfish? Don't you care about her at all?" He was almost screaming in anger.

"Of course I care about her! Have you not been paying attention?" Steve fired back.

"Then how could you just not tell her about me? She is the love of my life, Steve. And you just.... use it to your advantage that she doesn't remember me?!"
