Jason was surprised to see that he was not the only person who had chosen to come to the rooftop in such a dreary weather. Rose was leaning against the railings, her silver hair flowing in the strong wind and her back turned towards the door from where he had entered.
To him, Rose was extremely intriguing. She had the aura of someone who could be extremely dangerous provoked and yet he couldn't help but feel an undeniable pull towards her.
The alarming aspect that she had precognitive powers so he wasn't sure whether she knew about his attraction towards her already or not.
They had been working as a team for quite some time, roughly encompassing a month or two. All of them had accepted her with open arms by then, even Garfield who was initially the only member strongly against the decision to let her join.
Though with time the boy had seen for himself that Rose regarded them as friends and would never turn on them, especially when she once saved him from getting killed at the risk of her own life, so by then even Garfield had no issues with her staying as a team member.
However, Rose was closest with Nightwing and Robin, a fact that wasn't missed by the rest of them. And with time her closeness towards Robin had increased quite a lot.
To her, Robin was the only one who understood her conflict between the sides she had chosen over the course of her life. He understood what it felt like to not be accepted just because of a slightly opposite past as compared to the team's morals, also understood the urge to break a few rules here and there.
In fact, Rose and Jason were more like the troublesome due who were the only members of them team deviating towards a slightly reckless arc. They believed in justice but if need arose, they could use other means to get the deed done.
He cleared his throat slightly to gain her attention as he approached her, standing beside her and followed her gaze that was locked onto the wide city expanse below.
A slight smile graced her features because she had known already that he was there, "you know you don't have to do that to tell me you're here. I knew."
"Sometimes, I wonder just how much you know."
Her smile widened, "enough to ascertain that you were getting bored down there and wanted an escape."
"Wow, you should try becoming a medium if all this crime fighting doesn't work out at some point," he remarked lightly.
"Thanks for the tip."
A while passed in comfortable silence until Jason finally spoke up, "don't you think it's a little unfair that we all know you and your identity but you know none of ours?"
She thought for a while before replying, "not my place to judge. Besides, you guys have a valid reason not to trust me that much."
"Hey it's not like that, of course we trust you," Jay realized he had messed up again, his conversation skills really needed a refresher course.
"Oh yeah, so if you think it's unfair then why do you always approach me with this mask over your eyes?" Silver locked with concealed oceanic blue irises, "not that I'm judging here, just a thought."
"But you're right."
"To be honest, Robin, who you all are doesn't matter to me. What matters is that you all are my friends and that's enough for me," her words were sincere and a soft smile played upon his lips as well seeing that. "Besides, if I really wanted to find out who you guys are, I would have relied on my psychic abilities."
His light chuckle broke the silence and Rose retrieved her gaze though the smile didn't falter from her face just then, "true enough. You totally could. One more question though, how much can you find out through your psychic powers?"
