"I didn't know you had any siblings." I muttered to Hadeon. He turned to me from the drivers seat and furrowed his eyebrows in question. "I didn't think you had any family."
"I didn't think you needed to know."
My mouth dropped open and I glared.
"What?" Hadeon knew I was angry, but it was clear he didn't understand why. "I'm not close to her. Or my family.""Why not?"
"Violet," He sighed. "It doesn't matter. I've said this before: Jess and Jack are my family."
"How many siblings do you have?"
"Who cares?"
"ME!" I screeched.Hadeon turned back to the road as he slid into a parking spot beside the meter. I threw open the door and jumped down, stomping onto the sidewalk.
Hadeon seemed completely oblivious as he walked to the meter and pulled out his wallet. "How long is this going to be? Two hours? I'll pay for two."
"I don't think I even want to go at this point." I grumbled.
Hadeon ignored me as he started walking down the street. I jogged to catch up, then walked a notch faster than him so I could have my back to him.We negotiated with Andy, if we can convince Lilly to come by the bar, Hadeon wouldn't stand in-between them. The real issue was reconnecting Hadeon with Lilly.
Thats what we were doing now. Hadeon and I were having lunch at the diner she works at. Apparently, she won't recognise him.
Hadeon stopped short, staring at the diner from across the street. It was on the corner of a building, the red and yellow strips painted on the windows stood out against the brownstone buildings surrounding it.
I looked inside the diner where a tiny girl with jet black hair served customers in a waitress dress and apron. Thick rimmed glasses sat on her thin nose, threatening to slip off into the large mug of coffee she was holding.
"Thats her?" I asked, forgetting I was planning on giving him the silent treatment.
"Yeah."
"Well... go? We didn't come out here to stand outside."
"No, we didn't." He said. "But we didn't come to eat either."
Hadeon turned to the building behind us and pulled out a set of keys.
"Hadeon, what are you doing?" I hissed.
"Detour." Was all he uttered before walking up the steps to a green door and inserting his keys.
I followed him into the building. We walked up another flight of steps and to a door that read "2D". Hadeon didn't picked out another key and shoved it in the lock, only it didn't fit. Hadeon scoffed and instead pulled out a keyring that looked like a two tools I'd seen at the dentist."What are you..." Hadeon crouched so the lock was his height and shoved the tools into the key hole. "Hadeon! What the hell?!" I hushed.
"Unlocking the door. Stand guard."
"Oh my god! Stand guard? St- You are really walking on eggshells, dude."
"Dude?" He asked, smiling at me as the door pushed open.
He gestured for me to walk in first. I groaned, but walked in anyways. The options were either walk in or stay out in the hall, and the latter seemed more risky.
