My Life Is A Mess

~~~~Amber's POV~~~~

So we were walking into school this morning, just like we do every morning, Lucy and I are kind of popular I mean since we're on both the Softball and Volleyball team, which I didn't think was aloud at our school but whatever. Not only that but we're best friends with the captain/quarterback of the football team, which is Austin, everybody including me thinks that Lucy and Austin are perfect for each other, and I think Lucy's starting to realize that too.

~~~~Lucy's POV~~~~ 

I had been looking at Austin unconsciously because next thing I know Amber's asking me a question, and I didn't even hear it...oops. "Sorry what was that?" I asked "Well maybe if you weren't staring at Austin, you would know" she answered playfully "I was not staring at Austin! I was thinking about something" I said back "Yeah about Austin" Amber said under her breath. "Speaking of Austin..." Amber said as Austin walked up to us. "Oh you guys were talking about me huh?" Austin said with a huge grin on his face. "N..." I started but was quickly interrupted by Amber "Yes we were, Lucy was staring at you but she won't admit it" "Ohhhh I see..." Austin said smiling at me. "I was not staring at you. Geez! Anyway when's your guys' next game?" I asked, just like he never missed one of our games, we never missed one of his. "Oh uhhhhhh tomorrow I think." He said sounding very unsure of his answer. "Woooowww, captain/quarterback of the football team doesn't even know when the next game is wow just wow" Me and Amber said at the exact same time "Oh shut up" Austin said, just then my phone rang. "I'll be at my locker, my mom's calling me. Could be important" I said. "Ok just come back here when you get off the phone." Austin said. With that I walked over to my locker and answered my phone. "Hi mom. what's up?" I asked "Hi sweetie, I just wanted to let you know that I can't drop off your uniform until later. Also I won't be able to come to your game tonight. I'm sorry." She said "Oh. Why not?" I asked really upset "I'm sorry. Your dad and I have to go out of town for the weekend, do you think you could stay at Amber's?" She said "Ummm I don't know. Where are you guys going anyway? Where's Matt going to stay though?" I can't believe my parent's are going to miss my last Volleyball game especially because they also missed my last Softball game. "Well can you please figure out if you can stay at Amber's and I was hoping Matt could go with you since he is Jack's friend and we are going to North Carolina for the weekend."My mom said "Just a second let me ask Amber"

So while Lucy was on the phone I was talking to Austin. "So Austin the Going away dance is coming up here real soon." I said eagerly "Yeah so your point." Austin said sounding confused "Well aren't you going to ask Lucy to the dance? I mean it's obvious you both like each other." I said "I don't know I mean yeah I like Lucy but I don't think she likes me." Austin said, just then Lucy walked over looking really sad. "Lucy are you ok?" Austin asked sounding really worried "Yeah I guess. Hey Amber do you think it would be ok if me and Matt spent the weekend at your house?" Lucy asked me "Uh I don't think it would be an issue, why?"

"I'll tell you later" I told Amber. "She said she doesn't think it would be a problem. I have to go class is going to start bye" I told my mom "Ok bye sweetie" my mom said. With that I hung up both Amber and Austin were staring at me they looked confused. Before I could explain everything the bell rang "I'll explain everything later" I told them "Promise?" Austin asked "Promise" I answered.
