"Just Friends"

Birthday

*Shawns POV*

"Happy Birthday Carrie!" Everybody yelled as she came downstairs.

I ran up to her and kissed her cheek. Everybody cheered and she smiled.

"Thanks guys" she said.

We all sat down for breakfast that her mom made. I looked at everybody and raised my glass.

"To friends" I said.

"To friends!" Everybody cheered.

We clanked glasses and finished our breakfast. we all headed to the beach to chill for Carrie's birthday. We walked down the beach while the gang hung out messing around. I held Carries hand and stared at the sun.

"What a nice day" she said.

I nodded and smiled. We walked in silence for a little bit and then I just couldn't hold it in anymore. I stopped her and she smiled.

"Okay I can't hold it in" I said.

She looked confused.

"I wanna give your birthday present now" I muttered.

I sighed and whipped out two tickets.

"I got us ticket to Ed Sheeran!" I yelled.

She screamed and jumped into my arms. I chuckled holding her upright. I knew she would like them.

"And he texted me asking if we wanted to hang after the show" I replied.

"Oh my god! Really?!" She yelled.

I nodded proudly and smiled. She chuckled and hugged me again.

"Thank you" she said.

"Anything for my girl" I said.

We continued down the beach with not a care in the world.

Everybody clapped while I listened to Carrie sing along to Ed's song. I chuckled and kissed her forehead.

"Ladies and Gentleman introducing my friend Shawn Mendes!" he yelled into the microphone.

I got on stage and Carrie cheered the loudest.

"What song do you want to sing man?" he asked.

I looked at Carrie and smiled.

"All of the Stars" I replied.

He smiled and nodded.

"This ones for you Carrie" I mouthed.

She smiled and held her hands to her chest.

"It's just another night and I'm staring at the moon" I sang. "I saw a shooting star and thought of you I sang a lullaby by the waterside and knew if you were here I'd sing to you"

Ed and I sang to the song while Carrie swayed. She loved it, it was her favorite cover of mine. I smiled and blew her a kiss when we finished. I brought her up on stage, sat her a chair, and handed her flowers. She smiled and covered her mouth. She kissed me hard as everybody cheered loudly for us.

"Best. Birthday. Ever" she said to me.

I smiled and hugged her tight.
