Jessie Fleming was shattered
And in more ways than one.
She had been up late due to Jules having caught something causing the child to be miserable and meaning Jessie was up trying to sooth the child to sleep. It had only felt like Jessie's head had barely touched the pillow before she was pulled from her sleep again.
Usually she would have ignored the call in favour of getting some much needed sleep. The only thing pushing her to answer her phone was the fact that one, the only reason you would call this late at night would be because of an emergency or two, because Dylan would need her for something.
Because if anyone was hurting as bad as Jessie, it was Dylan and Jules.
But ever since Jessie grudgingly answered the phone all chances of sleep disappeared. Honestly Jessie didn't know know how to react. She was so extremely close to hopping on a plane to France and looking for the girl who's been missing from her life for almost a year now. The only thing stopping her from doing so was the little girl currently residing down the hall from her.
So that's how she found herself here instead
"I'm sorry for bothering you two so early....I just didn't know who else to talk to" Jessie sighed spinning the cup of tea she had been handed in her hand. The couple just smile reassuringly at the Canadian. "It's okay" Tobin says softly. But Christen frowns lightly as she looks over the Canadians appearance, "You okay Jessie? It looks as if you haven't slept at all?"
Jessie puts the cup down on the coffee table as she rubs her eyes tiredly, "Jules wasn't feeling well and I spent most of the night trying to get her to sleep". The couple share a look before turning back to the younger player. "What's up Jess?" Tobin asks knowing there was something more than just Jules sickness bothering the girl. Christen spots how Jessie looks up looking towards the hallway and smiles at her, "Don't worry Wills is watching Jules".
Jessie sighs dragging a hand down her face, "It's just...Jordyn called me last night". She looked between the two of them, "She says saw her. She saw Elliot".
The two veteran's breaths hitch at the news of their practically unofficial daughter. Christen's eyes watered slightly, "She...she saw Elliot?" Jessie nods mutely as her hand went to the chain around her neck. "Did she say how she was?" Tobin asked quietly. Jessie licked her lips, "Said that she had the wrong person. But Jordyn was sure it was her. She ran off before she could stop her". Jessie's voice broke slightly, "She said she found her at the Eiffel Tower". The couple watched as Jessie soon started to crumble and quickly moved to comfort the younger girl.
This had become a common occurrence over the past year. Once Jessie decided to call a halt to searching for Elliot and returned to Chelsea if was obvious to anyone that she wasn't the same. But it seemed that the only people who could get through to her was Christen and Tobin. Maybe it was due to the mutual feeling of losing Elliot that brought them together. The fact that they understood each other allowed them to rely on each other. Of course Rose, Sam and Abby who were still at City, also helped but she was always closer to the women who had filled the parental roles for her lost Fiancée.
Honestly the only reason Jessie felt she was able to get through the day was Jules.
Along with clinging to the hope that Elliot would come back one day.
The couple watched as Jessie wrung out her hands as she bounced her knee rapidly. "I...I know I shouldn't get my hopes up" Jessie starts as she licks her lips, "but do you think...this means she remembers?" Jessie sighed at how the two veterans shared a look. "Look I know how it sounds. But she was at the Eiffel Tower for a reason! Maybe she remembered something" Jessie says.
