Sorry guys!!! I went to edit it only to find out that most of it hadn't saved when I finished it...... Yeah I know. Annoying. But I put a rush on it and hear we are. All re written. Honestly I feel it wasn't as great as the first one I wrote but what can I do. But I still hope you enjoy!!!
Also cause I'm evil this is the flashback to when Elliot was still adjusting to her memory loss. Keep in mind!!!! This occurs around the 2 month mark after her accident.
Jessie almost had the path memorized she felt at this point. Surely at this stage she felt she could walk it blindfolded. She had walked the same path everyday, more than three times a day, for the past two months.
Jessie was also sure that everyone working here knew who she was. Judging by the sympathetic looks she always got off the nurses when she passed them walking through the hospital. Everyone knew why she came to this hospital everyday. And the story behind who she came to visit.
But even if this walk had become second nature to her, it still didn't make it any easier.
Jessie, as she always did, stopped at the door briefly took a deep breath and let out a sigh before she twisted the knob of the door. She entered quietly just in case she happened to be sleeping but relaxed when she saw she was laying back into her bed watching some nature documentary on the TV.
As Jessie moved to the seat she always sat in by her bedside and drop some things off by the bed she was interrupted by a voice.
"Real or not Real.....did I like penguins?"
Jessie paused as she looked to see Elliot's eyes had not moved from the TV which was now showing penguins. She furrows her eyes at the question not knowing where it came from. But with one look towards her bedside table and seeing all the books such as Harry Potter and the Hunger Games trilogy at the top, she released a chuckle as she understood why.
"Real. Loved them really. One time we went to the Zoo and you and Jules were fascinated. You even bought her a penguin onesie and only called her that for like a month". Jessie giggled lightly. "She still sometimes wears it as she slides around the house".
Jessie felt her heart lift at the smile that flashed across Elliot's face. But it quickly dropped as Elliot screws up her face. "Jules? That's...the one with blonde hair?"
Jessie's smile seemed more strained but nods. "Yeah. She's the youngest". Jessie has a light bulb moment as she pulls out a photo that she keeps in her phone case. "Here". She leans out as she hands Elliot the picture and points to the youngest who's mid laugh in Jessie arms. "That's Jules".
Elliot's face scrunches in concentration as she stares at the photograph. She points to the girl she has her arm wrapped around in the picture. "She...she was here. She was here before". Her lips pursue before she sighs shaking her head defeatedly. "I can't remember her name".
Jessie frowns before quickly recovering. Not wanting Elliot to see how disappointed she is that she still hasn't remembered all the names. Because she couldn't be upset. She knew Elliot was trying.
"That's okay" She said consolingly. "I know it's hard. I know it's a lot to remember. We didn't exactly made it easy on you with so many people and names to remember. You just have to take it one step at a time".
But when she sees that her words don't impact her, Jessie moves her hand down to Elliot's wrist which is now free from its splint. "Look. I know your frustrated. But look at it this way. Now that your fully healed, you can focus on getting better and working on getting your memories back".
Elliot thumbs the photo before releasing a sigh with the smallest of nods. "What is her name?" Elliot asks in the smallest voice possible but Jessie could hear the pleading behind it.
