For hours upon end, Zhongli and Childe kept arguing nonstop. There were multiple times when Childe shed a few tears due to anger and confusion, Zhongli showed no emotions back at him other than furrowed eyebrows of disappointment and a deep, soul quivering stern."I—Will you please just listen to me...?" The ginger muttered out tiredly, his energy was almost drained out completely. His eyes were puffy, cheeks were flushed with rosy-red, and his eyes felt an immense burning sensation.
"I won't forgive you, and I expected far more from someone who've gained my earnest trust despite of one's title. Haven't you listened at all?" Zhongli raised his voice in annoyance, making Childe shiver a tiny bit.
Zhongli had enough with their back-and-forth but as soon as he turned back and walked away from the other, he was grabbed by the back of the collar and slammed onto his back against a nearby wardrobe. "Why won't you forgive me?! It wasn't my fault—I promise!!!" Tears were trailing down the Harbinger's cheek, although drier, and his voice was raspy. The other showed no remorse—not one ounce of showing any change to his thoughts.
Childe gripped tightly onto Zhongli's collar while the other male grabbed onto his wrist, forcefully pulling it to the side to break from the hold. Then, pushing the ginger away, tightening his left glove by pulling it down afterwards. Zhongli glared at Childe deeply, almost as if he's staring right into his soul, "Listen, it's hard to understand but I don't doubt your abilities to acknowledge my words eventually... but you're just being difficult with your oh-so sob stories. This concludes our banter, till we meet again, Childe."
The Harbinger couldn't say anything except stare back at the individual in front of him. He tried his best to convince the other man, but it didn't seem to move him in the slightest. Childe simply wanted to give up. It wouldn't matter anyway, both of them have their reasons that won't come out of their mouths that easily.
The dark brown-haired man teleports away with a blink of an eye, leaving behind yellow glowing particles that soon faded in the air. Feeling defeated, Childe covered his eyes with both of his palms and sat on his bed in an attempt to calm himself down. Shortly, this moment for him made Childe break into another round of tears.
It isn't both of their faults.
