Daryl kicked the door open and signaled me to go inside.I nodded holding my gun tighter and the flashlight.

The only sound which could be heard was our heavy breathing and our footsteps on the wooden floor.

"I check the upstairs."He said and i nodded walking into the kitchen and then the living room.

Just two rotten corpses on the couch.I sighed at the view..they were a couple and all that's left from them is bones.

I look at the walls and picture frames.I could tell that they had two children and they were having good days as a family..god knows what's happened to their children..

I hear footsteps and i walk out of the living room facing Daryl.

"Clear."He says.

"Clear."I sigh. "Just two corpses."

"I got 'em."

As he took the corpses out,i checked the kitchen again in case i'd find something two eat.

I heard Daryl locking the door then walking into the kitchen.

"Anything?"He asks.

"Beans all we got."

"I can cook the squirrels."

I nodded. "And i'll get myself cleaned."

I looked at myself in the mirror behind him.All over me was filled with blood and i smelled like shit..we were lucky that we were alive after getting almost trapped in a store with about 60 walkers.

"Kendall."He says and i look at his eyes.

We were both scared to death..we saw death?it was breathing down our necks.I was fighting right next to him,my hands weren't working because there was more than 60 of those corpses and we all had was knives and arrows..

"You okay?"He said more like a whisper.

"I-I dunno."I sniffed. "This ain't the first time we get this close to death Daryl,it's been months we're searching for that bastard..and what did we find?"I chuckled with anger. "Our death would be pointless..i don't want to see you die."I said with clenched teeth. "That shit was close to bite you!The whole world stopped for me in that moment and i-i-i couldn't do anything!i can't watch it happen.."I sobbed and my tears ran down my face.

He held me tight in his arms and pressed my body against his.He had never done it before..but i guess we both needed it.

"I keep you and i both safe,i swear Ken."He whispered like a secret and wiped my tears.

"I'm not okay.."I said. "We've spent the whole day with empty stomachs and fighting those shits."

He nodded. "I know.Take your time."He said and walked away from me.

I leaned to the counter holding my head between my hands..i felt so safe with him,i felt so peaceful with him and it just sounded crazy.

I wanted him to hold me forever like he could save me from all the scary things outside these walls around us.

Words can't describe the fear or love..but i had them both in my veins.

I walked upstairs and searched two rooms for new clothes.When i opened the drawer i saw a necklace with a girl's name on it..Jenna..

Some dead flowers were in a vase and pictures of children were almost everywhere which reminded me of our home in Atlanta.

Mom put picture frames almost everywhere,the ones i didn't like because i wasn't looking good in them.
