Dad holds my hand with his famous look on his face waiting for the words to escape my mouth.i give him a small smile.

"Time for story telling,baby."he says and kisses my forehead.i sigh.

"I had a car accident on my way,that's all.nothing serious happened."i say.

"You,Ms.Grimes,gotta be really careful."Hershel warns. "I've already told you about your problems in your rib cage."

"Has it got worsen?"i ask.

Hershel shakes his head no. "But the other time you could be not so much lucky.take care of her,Rick."he pats on dad's shoulder and leave us two alone.

"Do you know about those people?"he asks.brilliant!

I shake my head to left and right. "How should i know them?"

"Don't lie to me,Ken."he says. "You warned us about them,i can see you're hiding something."

I huff and puff. "Well,yeah,i warned because i was worried.but it doesn't stand for me knowing shit."

"Why don't you tell me about what happened before Otis found you?"he grabs my hand. "I want you to be okay,Kendall that's all."

I sit and ignore the pain. "I see."i lick my dry lips. "After Jonas died i was on my own.i met two girls with their dad.some people attacked us for,um,food and weapons.we ran away,they didn't make it.they were more than us,so..i got bruised up,i got shot and that's all."i lie.somehow.

My nails dig into palm of my hands.i give daddy a reassuring smile,but talking just a word about that thing sets up the fire deep down in my soul again and again.

"I thought maybe they're those people who attacked us,but i suppose they weren't.now,are we done talking sheriff?"i ask him and he smirks.

"I'm sorry for what happened to you.i wish i was there to protect you.I should've been."

"Dad."i caress bis hand. "It was the price to get here,to see our family again.no one can change the past,so leave this alone."

I get up with his help and put my clothes on. "Is that why you spent your time in the woods?"his question shocks me. "U want to find those people,don't you?"

"W-What?why should i want to?i said everything's in the past."i lie and steal my eyes from him because he and mom always understand me lying.

"I want to protect you,this is what i have to do in this messed up world!i mean take a look around,nowhere can be safe.no one can be trusted."he says. "So i need to keep a good eye on you not to let you go out there alone for god knows what."

"I get that,i really do.i feel the same way for Carl even you and mom.that's why I didn't let mom to come after you and i did it myself.but i mean,hey,i can handle my own stuff because i don't have you and mom always by my side."i say trying to comfort his mind. "Trust me daddy,don't be worried about me."i say and i hug him tight.

"Uh,Kendall."he lets out a breathe. "You always get what you want."he says and i smirk. "Hey,don't be a hero any other time like last night,u got me?"

I let out a laugh and nod. "I need fresh air."i say. "Plus,u suppose you missed ur coat."i wink at him and hand the brown coat to him which i brought from home before leaving it forever.

His eyes shine and a big smile appears on his face. "When i git home i wondered who's taken if and there was something telling me it was you."

"You never told me how'd you get here."

"I woke up and found the world a real mess.i ran home, and i felt like i'm stuck in a something like a dream.a man found me with his boy.his name was Morgan.they saved me.i was in town when Glenn found me..he saved my life."he says and i smile.
