(Minki's POV)

We were tip toeing around the hospital, trying to find any medical things needed for any kind of injury imaginable.

We had brought five bags, one on each of us. One was for medical supplies, one for food, one for weapons, and one for anything else that we needed. I carried the medical supplies.

Finally, we made it to a closet.

When we opened it, all kinds of equipment greeted us. I looked to the boys, nodding.

We all spread out through the room, grabbing things and filling up my backpack.

Yuta suddenly approached me, everyone stopping what they were doing to watch. I slowly lowered the gauze in my hand. 'Yes? Is something wrong?' I asked him.

He gave me a wide smile and showed off the little devices he had in his hands. He motioned with his fingers to make me look up again. "I found them. Hearing aids. Why don't we try them out?" I smiled a little, nodding.

He handed me a guide that came with the aids(idk how it works-) and I read carefully through it. I nodded and carefully placed the aids in my ears, following the instructions I was given.

I looked up at them, still not hearing anything. Suddenly, a soft, sweet voice filled my ears. It was..so foreign I couldn't even register I was being spoken too.

I stared up at Yuta, my eyes wide. He smiled at me. "I said, do you hear me?" I nodded slowly, trying not to start crying as I looked around the room. The other boys were smiling so wide and Mark ran up, hugging me as tightly as possible.

I shook my head, deciding to try out speaking. "s...suh..suh...plies..." My voice sounded odd. Scratchy and worn. Mark started crying hearing that. They all nodded and we continued on.

We were walking through the street, I could hear our footsteps against the pavement. I could hear the trash scraping against the ground as the wind pulled it this way and that. I could hear hear the heavy but quiet breaths everyone was taking.

It felt surreal to me.

When we had finally made it too the store we peaked in, being careful so we wouldn't have to use our weapons.

We filed in and spread out, me following Mark to go and get any of the things we thought we would need for the house or other expeditions like this.

The bell rung softly at the door, making my head whip around to there.

There, standing in the doorway, was a group of boys. They didn't seem to be infected but I still couldn't be sure.

Before I could think Yuta went running, hugging the guy right in the front. I frowned, walking up slowly, staring at them and standing beside Yuta. He smiled down at me, his wonderful voice filling my ears again. "These are our friends Minki!" I looked up at them, holding out my hand for a shake.

The male that Yuta hugged gave me a toothy smile and shook my head. His voice was gentle, a bit high. "Hello! My name's Chittaphon but you can call me Ten!" I nodded softly, walking away, hearing him ask Yuta a few things but ignoring it.

I looked to see everyone regrouping and grabbed Marks arm, walking over just as Taeyong spoke. His voice was a bit nasally but it was very cute and soft. Seemed like most of the boys I have encountered had soft voices. "If Minki is okay with it, you should come back with us. What do you say?" I heard sounds of agreement and watched as Taeyong looked up at me, smiling a little. "Are you okay with it?" I nodded softly, looking at the group of seven boys infront of me. I hope we have enough room..

We were on our way home, carefully travelling through the park when suddenly the sound of something running at us caught my attention.

My eyes shot over to see an infected running at Hendery. I quickly ran at it back, slamming my bat into it's face, hearing a loud, sickening crack. Not a sound I liked in the slightest. I stared at it's weird twitching body before slamming my bat down on it again, it finally stopping it's movements. I shivered and turned to the boys, them standing there with their eyes wide.

I looked around for anymore before motioning to go, taking up the back this time as Mark led.

We were standing infront of the house and I reached up, switching off my hearing aids, telling mark to have the boys gather in the living room and keep quiet cause I wanted to hear their voices for my first time ever. He smiled a nodded happily, scurrying in.

I took a deep breath, slowly entering and going into the living room.

Just as I asked, there were all the boys, waiting silently for me.

I smiled, not realizing the new guys followed and we're watching from the doorway with everyone else.

'Boys.' I began. 'While we were out I found something super important. Yuta helped me find some hearing aids. They're off right now, but I'm gonna turn them on so I can hear you, okay?' Smiles were on the boys faces as they nodded excitedly.

I reached up, turning on the devices and smiling softly. "O..oh-h..k-kayh."

Chenle's eyes filled with tears as he stood up, slowly walking over to me. "C...can you hear me hyung?" His voice was so cute. I smiled, my own tears filling my eyes.

I listened to all of my boys voices, a wide smile on my face. It was amazing to finally hear them.

The sun had long gone and I was outside on the porch.

I looked down to the pack of cigs in my hand and then out to the world around me again before popping one in my mouth, lighting it.

I was a bit surprised that the cigarette made a sound as it burned, but it was a oddly nice sound. I took a puff, slowly blowing it out and thinking, it hanging from my fingers.

It was, once again, snatched.

I looked over to Yuta, not giving him a chance to put it out. I snatched it back, taking another drag and blowing it out of my nose, hearing my breath. 'I know they're not good for me, but they calm me down. I was hoping we didn't run into any infected today but luck wasn't on my side.' I heard him sigh beside me before he leaned beside me on the railing.

"How...how did it feel? Hearing us for the first time?" He asked. I smiled a little, feeling a lot happier than I have in years. 'Absolutely magical. I am however gonna have to get someone to teach me how to speak properly. It's been years since I've spoken.'

A wide and bright smile broke out on his lips. "I'll teach you!" I smiled gratefully at him, finishing my cigarette before turning to him. 'Can you come to my room for a minute? I have something I wanna ask of you.' He nodded, smiling and following me into the house.
