We watched cartoons until Zackary couldn't take it anymore and snatched the remote out of my hand and changed it to an action movie. My head tilted and my expression changed from joyous to murderous, I blinked twice then looked back at the TV to see if I was imagining the channel being changed but it wasn't my imagination.

"Did your mother drop you on your head? You do not simply change the channel from cartoons and live to talk about it." I hissed at him, my eye twitching dramatically.

"I see you like to talk about mothers and how old are you?" Zackary asked amused.

"I'm eighteen and that has nothing to do with this, put my cartoons back on, right now." I demanded

"Maddie, its fine, just watch the movie." Lily piped in and I felt betrayed.

"How could you side with the enemy, you traitor?" I questioned in the most upset voice I could muster.

"Now you're being dramatic. Quit whining and watch the movie." Lily said firmly so I put my palm on my chest in a hurt manner, got up and walked outside. If I was going to be dramatic I might as well take it to the next level.

The cold night's wind blew gently across my face causing me to shiver. I heard movement behind me so I turned around to find Zackary smirking at me. I rolled my eyes and backed him which was a mistake since he moved so close to me that I could feel his warm breath on my neck when he spoke, making me shiver involuntarily but I mentally blamed it on the breeze.

"Was all of that really necessary?" He asked and I could almost sense that he was smiling.

"You changed the channel and I love cartoons." I huffed and took a couple steps forward to put a little distance between us. I didn't dare turn around to face him.

"I'm sorry and you shouldn't be out when it's this cold without a jacket." He sighed.

"Why did you follow me out here? I thought you were trying to be less creepy Zack." I asked.

"I have to keep an eye on you." He replied and he walked up to me and hugged me.

"Why are you touching me?" I asked in a disgusted tone.

"I'm being a creep." He laughed and let me go. I was completely confused. I walked back inside and he trailed closely behind me.

I gasped loudly at the sight I saw when I entered the living room again, Lily and Seth were sitting really lose and seemed to be having a deep conversation but what caught my attention was the show that was on the TV, someone put back on my cartoons.

"You're welcome." Zack chuckled as he pushed me out of the way and proceeded to sit next to Seth.

My attention switched from the cartoons to Lily after I heard her laugh loudly, this was the first time in a long time that I heard her laugh like that. It has been less than two hours since these guys have been here and already Seth has gotten through to Lily and I found it pretty cute. Since they were being so adorable I decided that I should ruin their moment because I was a bad friend and very bitter.

"Can the two of you shut up?" I asked in the rudest voice I could manage.

"I don't know, can we?" Seth replied and I looked at him with a look that was both stunned and disgusted. It was that moment that I knew we would become great friends.

"Did you just act like a teacher?" My tone of voice matched the look on my face. Everyone around me laughed and I became confused because I did not see the joke in a serious matter like this.

"I just had to." He simply stated.

"Just keep your flirtation to a minimum so that I can hear the TV." I smiled when Seth blushed and Lily just smirked at him.

The show was playing and I was staring at the TV screen but my mind was elsewhere. I couldn't help but consider joining the pack. Hours had gone by and the boys and I were getting along very well. I assumed that not all of the pack members are abusive with anger problems. It amazed me how easily I could talk to these brothers and everything about them seemed so sincere even though Zackary was very sarcastic.

Although I thought that other pack members could be nice, just thinking of Aaron having any control over me was very off-putting. It appeared as though he had the females in that pack terrified of him and what he could do. The males just went along with anything he said. These thoughts were based solely on the few interactions I had with them so I could have been drawing wrongful conclusions. I had to make a decision within the next couple weeks or something bad would happen, I could feel it.

My eyelids got increasingly heavier as the night went on but I tried to battle the sleep. I didn't want to be the first to fall asleep which was pretty childish but I did not want to be the weakest link. I gave up on being strong and told everyone 'goodnight' before heading to my bedroom. As soon as my head touched my pillow I became wide awake so instead of getting up and going back to the living room, I just picked up my phone and texted Lily.

After a few minutes I stopped texting her and tried to fall asleep, I could still hear them out there laughing and having fun. I had to admit, I was feeling a bit left out. I heard my door creak as it opened. I looked that direction only to see Zackary creeping into my room so I snorted.

"For a wolf, you aren't stealthy at all." I muttered which earned me a deep chuckle.

"I thought you were asleep already, you've been in here for a while." He said as he took a step inside.

"As you can tell, I'm wide awake." I replied and turned so that I was lying on my back.

"I'll just come back later then." Zackary told me and began to back away. It was strange that he came into my room while Lily was still awake; it was strange that he came into my room at all but I felt calm enough to trust him not to hurt me.

"No, stay, you can sit at the end of my bed. Don't you sleep?" I wondered aloud.

"I'll leave before you wake and sleep when I get home." He said sleepily.

"Doesn't sound like you're going to stay awake through the night." I laughed lightly.

"It's already three o'clock in the morning." He responded.

"Wow, I should really get to sleep then." I yawned while I was trying to finish my sentence. Something about him put me at ease. We exchanged numbers before I fell asleep.

"Sleep well, Maddie." Were the last words I heard and the feeling of him touching my foot was the last thing I felt before I drifted into a nightmare.
