We were in the woods and somehow everything was heightened; smells, sounds, emotions, everything. I looked around but I didn't know what I was looking for, I was confused. The noises that the other animals in the woods were making sounded unbearably loud. My breaths were coming out in loud sharp pants but I tried to control that, I could not look weak.

"Stop being so dramatic." Lily thought.

"Hey! This is very nerve-wracking." I replied.

"The sooner we do this, the sooner it can be over."

Aaron was stood in front of us in wolf form, I will forever be in awe of how powerful and graceful his wolf looked. He bared his teeth at us but I did not back down. Lily lifted her back left paw to step back but I looked at her and she stopped. He took a menacing step towards us and I did the same towards him.

Before we got to this point, Aaron said that it didn't matter how terrified we got or how much pain we were in, we had to keep our thoughts trained on the task at hand; forming the pack bond. Lily and I were already connected so once I was linked to Aaron, he would be linked to her and both Lily and I would be linked to the rest of the pack.

When I thought about it I realised that Lily and I were not really rogues, I was an Alpha to my own pack and she was a part of that pack. So once two Alphas linked their minds, the two packs would be joined. It was a pretty interesting concept.

My thoughts were all focused on connecting with Aaron and so were Lily's. The pain began at that point. It felt like someone threw a brick house at my head. My body was screaming for me to stop but I knew that I couldn't. I did not let my thoughts waver; Infinity, connect, Alpha, merging. Aaron stepped forward again and I mimicked him then Lily mimicked me. Something in my head exploded and I howled in excruciating pain. I felt as though I got hit by something and somehow landed on my side but no one hit me.

I looked across and saw Lily was in just as much pain but Aaron did not look like anything happened to him. Everything went black.

Finally I woke up but it was noisy and so I looked around to find about twelve wolves watching me. My head was pounding and I could barely think straight especially since I was hearing various distinct voices in my head, all different pitches and volumes. It worked.

"Yes it did." I heard a voice in my head say so I looked around to find out who it came from but it was useless.

It was difficult to get up and I feared that if I tried that I would stumble embarrassingly. Although that thought came to mind I still tried to get up, I did not want to seem weak in front of my new pack. I let my mind go blank and ignored the pain as I pushed myself onto my paws. After a bit of struggling, I got up then looked at Lily, she was trying to do the same. It seemed that she had less difficulty doing so than I did.

"Thank you for accepting me. By the way, how long was I out?" I thought, forgetting that there were so many wolves that could hear my thoughts.

"Thirty minutes, you are really weak." Aaron laughed and so did most of the pack.

I growled at him which only made him laugh louder. I already regretted my decision to join this stupid pack.

"I can hear everything you are thinking, remember? Plus I am your Alpha now so you need to respect me."

"Respect my as-"

"Maddie!" Lily cut me off so I glared at her.

"What did I say about cutting me off? I thought that we sorted this out weeks ago." I grumbled.
