For the rest of the vacation Heather has hung out with Hailey, meanwhile, Zenny returned to being her silly crazy self. When Adria came she told us all about how she enjoyed spending Christmas and new year with her family and how much she enjoyed her vacation. I couldn't relate, mainly because I had to make sure Hailey doesn't anger Zenny again.
On the first day back to school, the teachers told us great news. We were informed that we will be able to go past fifty feet, that was one of the best news because that means we can explore more.
During lunchtime, Heather would spend it with Hailey. It was really a shame that Heather forgot about us that easily, but who could resist popularity?
The seven of us would spend every meal with Stella, Mishelle, and Frederico. Though sometimes Zenny, Lewis, and Hugo would have breakfast without us. People would think I would get jealous, but I am quite okay with it. I always smile seeing Lewis happy, and I guarantee I haven't seen him as happy as he is when he is with Zenny and Hugo.
We were sitting outside on the warm grass under one of the trees planted fifty-five feet away from the school during a recess. It's not much, but we did like the fact that we could finally go beyond the fifty feet that we treasured every foot after the 'barrier'.
"Heather isn't joining, is she?" France asked.
"What is up with her? How can someone who seemed so cool go under Hailey's curse?" Frederico questioned.
"She a witch?" Hugo asked, misunderstanding the whole situation.
"That would be an insult to witches," Michelle mumbled.
Hugo looked scared so I reassured him: "No, Frederico is just saying that it's hard to believe that Heather would become friends with Hailey."
Honestly, I learned that Hugo isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he is still learning, all that we could do is explain the things that he misunderstands.
"Hey, cuties," Aurora spoke as she joined us. "What's going on?"
"Nothing much," Stella replied.
"What is new with you?" France asked.
"Nothing really, but I heard the weirdest thing, is it true that Heather is now friends with Hailey?" Aurora questioned.
"Sadly," Zenny answered drily.
"But why?" Aurora asked. "I mean Heather saw how horrible Hailey treats people, why would she want to join her?"
"Maybe is Heather mean," Hugo spoke.
"Maybe Heather is mean." Lewis corrected, as Hugo rolled his eyes.
"Heather isn't mean, she's just confused." France defended, "Heather has always been lost, I mean can you blame her? The girl never had a home."
"What do you mean?" Stella asked.
"Heather has been living with her aunt and uncle ever since she was a kid. She doesn't know who her parents are, as far as I know. Naturally, her aunt and uncle have children so she always felt that she doesn't belong with them, which is strange because they treated her like their own. And to add to that she never really stayed in one place for a long time. They used to move a lot, they went from school to school to school, many times. It's really not her fault that she doesn't know how to be loyal, mainly because I have been her longest friend ever." France explained.
"But if she moved a lot then how come you are her longest friend?" Aurora asked.
"Simple, we were in the same preschool together, but then she moved to Alaska, when she came back she came back to the school I was in, but after a few months my parents got a job offer away north of the country, so we had to move there. Not a month after I moved to the new school, Heather moved to it too. Then we both came here." France justified.
