The next morning arrived, and the moment I got out of bed, Michelle was gone. That girl sure wanted to search for her best friend, but I really hoped that she didn't get herself lost in the process.
Since it was Saturday, we all went searching for Stella from the early morning. Hailey, of course, decided that she wanted nothing to do with us and spent her day getting a tan in the beautiful sun.
By noon, we couldn't find a trace of Stella and Mishelle was indeed missing. But that wasn't the worst part, the worst part was who went missing next.
Zenny's P.O.V
Lewis, Hugo, and I decided to search for Mishelle while the rest went searching for Stella. We followed the path from the school to the houses multiple times, but the last time we went through that path Lewis disappeared. It was like a magic trick. One minute he was behind Hugo and me and the next minute he was gone. We searched the area multiple times but he wasn't there.
Our biggest concern was who will tell Adira because this isn't something she was going to take well. Both Hugo and I searched for him hoping he would turn up, but there was no use. Hugo tried calling him over a thousand times but there was no signal. It really appeared as if the ground swallowed him.
When Adira came with France, Adrian, and Adria, I felt my heart drop. How was I supposed to tell Adira that her twin brother disappeared? Hugo couldn't tell her because his grammar and accent might confuse her, so I had to, but I really wished I didn't. Who would ever want to erase that smile off of her face?
Adira's P.O.V
When I saw Zenny looking uneasy I felt uneasy myself. Both her and Hugo looked tense, and at that moment I didn't need them to tell me what happened because I already guessed. I felt my face get hot as Zenny started mumbling the news to me. My head felt so heavy and my body completely felt numb. I couldn't believe my ears but the truth is the truth whether we like it or not.
"What do you mean gone?" I heard Adrian ask.
"We just turned around and he wasn't there," Zenny replied.
"Are you sure you didn't hear anything?" Adria asked.
"No." Both Zenny and Hugo answered.
"Look, I think that this is the closest we have gotten to this. We know he was here, so something here must've taken him. What if he fell through the ground? We have to continue searching." France suggested.
"The floor is made of earth, the earth can't swallow anyone." I heard myself say.
"True, but this school was made ages ago. Who's to say there isn't a dungeon under the school?" France asked.
Before anyone could speak Zenny screamed and fell on her side. We all looked at her and tried to come near her but she stopped us saying: "The ground moved again."
"The ground what?" Hugo asked.
"I remember the night I lost Fran, I was walking along this path when I felt the ground move like it lost balance for a second. When France said that maybe Lewis fell through the ground, I thought it's like a trap. And It is." Zenny explained as she got back up.
She got a big rock and put it on the ground then applied pressure on the rock, and as expected the rock fell through the ground. It was like a trap door, the type that creates a slide then goes back to being camouflage.
We tried holding the trap door open, by keeping the pressure exerted on it, and it worked. We then heard Lewis say: "Thank goodness!"
My heart lighted up as a smile appeared on my face. Zenny looked through the hole and saw Lewis looking up at us. The problem was that the slide the door creates isn't as tall to reach the ground, so Lewis couldn't get out. We tried pulling him out, but that only ended with France falling in too.
"Stay there, I will be right back," Zenny spoke as she started running back to the school.
"Where are you going?" I asked, hoping that she heard.
"To get supplies!" She yelled.
I know I am repeating myself, but that girl's mind works in a way that seems very strange. What type of supplies would she need?
Then Hugo started walking back to the school too. "Where are you going?" I asked.
"I would like the bathroom use," Hugo replied, much to my confusion.
"I would like to use the bathroom!" Lewis yelled from underground.
Hugo rolled his eyes as he continued walking, while I looked at Adria and Adrian who were laughing at what just happened.
