That day ended fast. I really enjoyed the girls, they were so friendly, but summer came to an end and it was time to finally start the first day of school. I remember barely catching any sleep whatsoever, not because Zenny can only sleep with the lights on, but because I was so excited and nervous. I just wished that Hailey wouldn't be in the same class as us.

The moment I heard the rooster yelling at us kids 'good morning', it's just a metaphor by the way the rooster doesn't actually talk, I knew that the first day of school was upon us. I got out of bed and as I was going down the stairs of the bed, Zenny spoke: "You are the first person I know who gets out of bed before the sun rises."

I was surprised that she was awake, especially since I knew that I was quiet. "Why are you awake?" I asked in a very low voice.

"The rooster, and the..." She paused, then continued: "excitement."

I suspected something was going on, but I decided that when she wants to tell me she will, until then I don't want to push her. After a few minutes Adria and Heather woke up, but I was with Zenny in the kitchen waiting for breakfast time, so they were confused about where we were, but eventually, they found us leaving the kitchen with cereal and milk.

At 7:20 we went downstairs to the hall to wait for a teacher to claim us. Lewis found us and gathered his roommates to join us in the wait. While waiting, Hailey came, she looked at us and spoke: "I hope this year we won't be in the same class. I can't stand being around people like you." Then she smiled and left.

I swear she makes me so mad that I want to slap her, but the rules forbid us to be violent, so I can't. Zenny got a little mad too: "Why does she think that she is better than us?"

"Because of the millions she has under her bed, or the diamonds in her closet," Lewis replied.

"So what, money isn't everything," Zenny responded.

"Try telling that to her." Lewis rejoined.

"Zenny, for what is Zenny actually?" Hugo asked.

"Ah, what?" Zenny asked, looking confused.

"I think he is asking what Zenny stands for," Lewis answered.

"My real name, but it's complicated, so Zenny is easier to spell and write." She replied.

   "But why Zenny?" Lewis questioned.

"It's either Zenny or Zen, but Zen is more of a boy name, so Zenny is more suitable, plus I really like Jenny, so Zenny is the next best thing for my name." She explained.

"But how is your real name?" Hugo inquired.

   "What." France corrected.

   "What?" Hugo asked.

"It's 'what is your real name' not how," France explained, and it seemed that Hugo got the message.

But before Zenny could answer Hugo's question, the bell rang and it was time for the announcement. The teachers usually hold up a sign with the class written on it, so we just searched for which teacher had the sign for grade nine. I saw Miss Gemma holding the sign and I signaled to Mishelle that Miss Gemma is our teacher.

We rushed to Miss Gemma as she started: "Grade Nine, how exciting. Okay so this year will be intense, but you have each other and me to keep you sane." It was hard to hear her with all the other teachers talking, but it was okay. She picked up the name sheet and started reading: "The kids in Nine A, which is on the right for the new kids, I read Alexander, Auriana, Aurora, Bobby, Cloe, Carlos, Jack, Maddie, Samantha, Stefanie, Steve, and Tom.
