When the door opened we saw all our classmates standing together with our teachers yelling: "Finally!" We were so confused about what was going on. They were all there, all the students that went missing were behind that door.

"The winners of this year's challenge are..., well usually we have one or two students, but congrats for you eleven for completing the challenge." Miss Gemma spoke.

"You guys were amazing, you finished faster than most of us," Aurora stated.

   "So cool," Alexandra added.

"Am I still the only one who has no clue what is going on?" Heather asked.

"Every year the school holds this challenge for ninth graders. During this challenge, you are tested to see what you learnt from this year in addition to your reaction under pressure. Most students don't get through the first round, but quantity and quality played in your favor and you were the only ones to make it till the end." Miss Camy explained.

"Each student is put in this challenge depending on their luck. Once you fall through the traps you can't get out. For the students who fall through, they are given six hours to twelve hours to complete a challenge or we would have to unravel the plan to them. For the rest of the year they would learn down here, in the basement of the school, and they would enjoy the sun beyond the houses' limits." Miss Gemma continued.

"And what exactly is the purpose of this?" Hailey asked.

"To assess the students into their house. The order you 'disappeared' in would tell us which house you and your roommates will go into. But the one considered is the last one, so like with you Hailey, you, Cloe, and Francesca go into the same house." Miss Camy answered.

"Oh great, still stuck with that loser," Hailey mumbled.

"Despite what you think, since you are the winner you get to choose which house you want to go into, and since you are eleven, we will only add one extra group with you in the house." Miss Gemma added.

"Oh, house 7!" I yelled along with Mishelle, Stella, Lewis, and Hailey.

"Okay then, the seniors will leave this year and you will get that house by next year. But who will be your teacher?" Miss Camy asked.

"Miss Gemma, can you?" Hugo asked, and I must say he had the right judgment. Miss Gemma was the kindest and sweetest of all the teachers, she always knew what to say and how to say it. She was the best one.

Miss Gemma laughed as she nodded, then she spoke saying: "Of course, house 7 is full of wonders, I would love to go there with you."

And by that, we have agreed where we were going in tenth grade. Federico and his roommates were also said to join us, so it's like we were all together, the only downside is that Aurora wouldn't, but at least she wouldn't have to share a house with Hailey, so I guess she was more of a winner than us.

Zenny looked super happy when the teachers told us our finals were canceled, and I mean super happier. Like the rest of us were happy, but she was over the moon happy. It was like she had other plans. But like I mentioned before, Zenny's mind is a mysterious place.

That is the story of how my first school year with roommates went. It was wild and crazy, but we got through it. And even though we had ups and downs we came closer and became a strong team. But the whole story isn't over yet, actually, it has just begun. We still had a long way to go with Hailey, Zenny, and even Heather, because what we didn't know was that those three were keeping a big secret about themselves that would change a lot. But those are stories for another day.
