Adira's P.O.V
My favorite event of the year was Halloween. The school usually holds a fun party for all the classes. The kindergarteners and primary schoolers would usually dress up and have their party during school hours, but after school, came our Halloween party.
Because we can't go to our countries to bring costumes with us, we had to improvise. The older students would get access to this shopping center on the island, but since we have a border we can't cross yet, we couldn't go.
I loved Zenny's creativity that day, she came up with four costumes just by looking at our closets. Heather's costume was a spy, where she dressed up in a tight turtleneck, black tights, and black high boots. Zenny even made her put a black ribbon around Heather's waist and pinned on it objects like two pencils taped together to resemble a gun, sort of, and a small plastic box that resembled a waki-taki.
Adria's costume was beautiful though, Zenny found a cute colorful ribbon in Adria's closet and instantly got the idea. I honestly don't understand how that girl's brain works. With that ribbon around Adria's hair, a cute red and white patterned shirt, a pair of Jeans, and red lipstick, Adria looked like she came out of the 1950s.
For me, Zenny got the idea to make me wear an orange shirt, black pants, and a cute green beret we found in Adria's closet. So I guess I went as a pumpkin that year, but I didn't complain, I loved the costume.
Zenny though dressed up like 'sunshine'. She wore a yellow shirt and decorated her hair in yellow hairpins. In my opinion, I think she ran out of ideas for herself in the end.
Though I have to admit, no wonder how any of us dressed no one was able to beat the winner for the best costume in our class. Hailey thought she would win in her fancy, obviously expensive, princess dress, but she didn't, though why would she, she had a big advantage over the rest of us, she had an expensive ballgown while we had to improvise with what we had. But no matter what Hailey thought, Stella won.
Stella's costume was very creative. She went as one of those beautiful dolls that usually end up haunted. She wore a cute short black dress, with white leggings and a cute pair of black ballet flats. Her makeup completed her look perfectly and I guess that's why she won.
Hailey was obviously angry by that news and demanded a rematch, but the teachers wouldn't allow it.
Zenny's P.O.V
I had to admit, the Halloween party was so much fun until Hailey started complaining. Lewis and Hugo hung out with me during the party. They both dressed formally and when I asked them what they were going as Lewis replied: "Well, all that we could find were these. I found them in the auditorium. Apparently, they are costumes for the play, but the teachers didn't mind us borrowing them."
He answered something, but definitely not my question, so I sighed then asked again: "Okay, but what is it representing?"
"It can represent anything, a groom, a formal person, or even whatever these costumes are being used for in the play," Lewis answered.
"Last time I checked, grooms wear white," I stated, and I know that sometimes they can wear black, but I just wanted to tease the boys.
"Well, I didn't know that," Lewis replied, looking very unsure and confused.
I couldn't help but laugh, and apparently, Hugo got a little annoyed so he asked: "Why you laughing?"
"Why are you laughing?" Lewis corrected. "Remember? There is always an 'are' or 'were' or 'was' or 'is' when you use 'ing'."
Hugo smiled and nodded as I answered: "I was just teasing you guys."
Lewis smiled: "You really are crazy. We should call you 'crazy Zenny'."
Hugo also agreed to the name as he nodded crazily and repeated it indicating that he liked it.
