Miami, Florida
3:00 P.M.
The same day...

After nearly 2 hours, the judge had made his decision. If you don't remember, Bianca had gotten caught up(🤪) and that really helped on Amarah's end.

Amarah had also showed the pictures that she subtly took, prompting Clarence to get shaken up again, and he eventually cracked under pressure. However, that still wasn't enough to stop Bianca from trying.

"Your honor, sir, I would like to make one more statement before you make your final decision. Can I do that, please?"

"Very well then, Mrs. Carter. But you only have five minutes."

"Thank you. First off, I want to say that I'm so terribly sorry for what you think I've put my little girl through. Anovah is the best thing that's ever happened to my husband and I; we wouldn't exchange her for anything in the world. And if you wish to take her, even with me denying all allegations brought against my husband and I, then do that sir. But just know that you're breaking up a happy home."

Not buying her story one bit, the judge simply ignored everything she'd just said and went on with his original decision.

"How touching. Anovah Carter is not to go back with her parents. She will be put into the system, where she will sit until she's adopted or until she's reached the age of eighteen. Mr. and Mrs. Carter, you will be placed under state watch, and if you so much as go near Anovah Carter, you will be thrown away. This court is adjourned."

Not hearing what she wanted, Bianca lost it.

"NO! YOU CAN'T DO THAT! SHE NEEDS US!"

Having already walked out, the judge didn't give Bianca a second glance.

Trying to get her calm before she does something that gets her in more trouble, Clarence attempted to grab her arms to get her out. But, Bianca had already began making her way rather quickly towards Amarah and Novah."

"You little BITCH! This is all your fault. That's why you got everything you deserved. And nobody will EVER love you. You were a MISTAKE! And I hope you get the death wish I was planning on giving you. I REALLY hope you get treated worse than we ever treated you! I HATE YOU!"

Not understanding anything, Novah started bawling due to being yelled at. She still wasn't completely used to being away from her parents, so she was still triggered by the smallest things most times.

Amarah, however, understood each and every word. She really wished that she could whoop Bianca's ass herself, but she couldn't afford her "hood bitch side" making its appearance at the moment.

"I asked you nicely once, but now I'm TELLING you, back UP! This little girl has been through enough and I refuse to let her live her life in fear because of you anymore. BACK UP! And we will be filing a restraining order for her."

"IT DOESN'T MATTER! THIS IS ALL HER FAULT! THAT'S WHY SHE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER ME! ALWAYS! WITH HER STUPID UGLY BLACK ASS!"

Not wanting to talk anymore, Amarah gently picked up Novah and walked out of the courtroom, calming her down instantly. They were followed, not so surprisingly, but it was now Clarence.

"Excuse me, Ms. Hammond?"

Turning around with a sigh, Amarah put on the fakest smile ever.

"Yes, Mr. Carter? What can I help you with?"

"I just wanted you to know that my wife was right. If she wasn't so dark, we wouldn't have to do all of this. She would've been loved unconditionally, honestly."

Looking at him in pure disgust, Amarah sat Novah beside her, not neglecting to grab ahold of her hand.

"Sir, I want you to take a good-no a GREAT look at this little girl, and tell me she isn't beautiful. If you can do that, then I won't even put a restraining order against you and your wife."

Thinking this would be easy, Clarence took a really good look at his little girl, instantly making eye contact with her. At that moment, it was like the world around him stopped.

Staring into her little beautiful hazel eyes was like staring into a mirror; she looked just like him. And there was no way he could deny her beauty in that moment.

He was so stuck up his wife's ass, he didn't really push himself to try to show that little girl any real love. He was all about making sure Bianca was happy, and making sure she was pleased. He didn't even think of himself anymore, but it was now too late to care.

Noticing that he couldn't do just that, Amarah shook her head in shame.

"I understand that you want your wife happy, I really do. But you have to think about what really mattered. You had a little girl who you were hurting for someone that seems to only care about herself. You had a chance to do better, and while I wholeheartedly believe you tried, it's too late. You lost the best thing that's ever happened to you."

Before Clarence could respond, they heard Bianca coming into the hallway making the most noise and just doing the most altogether.

She was screaming at the officers that carries her out by her two arms, desperately trying to fight them off.

"OKAY! Just take me to my husband and I'll be fine. No more outbursts."

Hesitantly waking her to her husband, the officers made sure to stay close by just in case she did anything else.

Walking close to Amarah and Anovah, she smiled evilly.

"It's okay, dear daughter. I'll have you back in no time. Don't get too comfortable without momma, okay?"

She tried to pat Novah's head, but Clarence grabbed her arm before she could, causing her to look at him incredulously.

"Just let them go, B. Leave it alone for right now."

Not waiting for her response, he walked away leaving her behind. She was truly shocked.

Not wanting to hear anything else from her either, Amarah carried Novah out of the courthouse and into the truck that they rode in. She was taking her back to the girls home to get her situated permanently, and she couldn't have been any happier.
