9:30 P.M.
Later That NightWalking quietly into the house, Farah carried a drowsy and half asleep Novah over her shoulder. They had went out to an arcade, restaurant, and they even went to visit Cicely. And to say Novah was tired would be an understatement.
When Farah made it all the way into the house, she closed to door behind them as softly as possible while carrying the bags of food she brought home and balancing her daughter at the same time. She failed to notice Treyton staring straight at her.
When she turned around, he let her get beside the chair he was sitting on before he flipped the lamp on. Startled, she nearly dropped everything in her arms. She expected him to be gone seeing as he hid his car from her.
"Why you sitting there like a creep, boy? What the hell wrong wit' you?"
Not answering, he just stood up and grabbed Novah from her. He look Farah up and down with a certain deadly look in his eyes and turned to start walking up the stairs. Stopping and turning around, he made direct eye contact with her.
"Sit yo' ass down and wait until I come back. Put all that shit by the chair and chill for a second."
Not having any words, Farah watched him turn back around and finish the short walk upstairs. She was stuck a little, but quickly dropped everything when she heard his slow footsteps. As soon as he got to the bottom step, she dropped her body down on a chair across from the one he previously occupied.
When Trey made his was to her, he watched her intensely even though she avoided looking at him at all. She was too scared and slightly embarrassed.
Sitting in the chair in front of her, Treyton started for a few more minutes. It was as if she was about to get whooped and he was thinking of the right way to do it. Finally, he spoke.
"Where y'all went?"
Looking up, Farah glared at him slightly. It was as if that question flipped a switch in her and she forgot all about the scared feelings she just had.
"Don't worry about it. Where you been?"
"I went to see grams. Where you took my daughter to?"
"I just said don't worry about it. Damn! You can't hear?"
Chuckling slightly, Treyton nodded his head. He was expecting her to give attitude, but he was starting to get pissed off from it.
"I'm gon' ask yo' ass one mo' time! Where the fuck you been wit' my daughter?"
Sighing, Farah rolled her eyes hard before deciding to somewhat answer him.
"Out."
"Word. Why y'all left?"
He decided to let her slide because he knew just how petty Farah could be. And he wasn't up for it tonight with the way he was feeling.
"Why you had a stank ass attitude?"
"I told you I was in a rush. Why the fuck you got so mad?"
"I woke up because my husband was crying and damn near screaming in his sleep. Excuse me for being concerned. I'll mind my damn business next time."
As she went to stand up, Trey followed her and grabbed her wrist. He felt bad because he knew it wasn't right that he scared her, even if it was unintentionally, and flipped out when she wanted to know what was wrong.
"I'm sorry, bae. I had a nightmare and that shit felt real as fuck. I ain't mean to act like that. For real, man. I apologize."
Farah didn't look at him for a few seconds. She still felt some type of way, but she knew she couldn't stay mad at him.
Turning around, she stared at him giving her puppy dog eyes before cracking a smile.
"I forgive you. But don't EVER do that shit again! I had half the mind to make yo' ass go on a search because we were not 'bout to come home."
"Mmcht! Man I wouldn't beat yo' ass then. But I'm sorry for real. It just felt so...real. I ain't know what to do and I feel like that dream was a sign. I don't even want to stress it but I can't help it."
"I understand, boo. You want to talk about it?"
"Not right now, ma. Most definitely later though."
"Alright. Just let me know."
Giving him a quick peck on the lips, Farah tried to turn and walk up the stairs. Before she could get far, Trey pulled her and turned her back around to him. He had a bug smirk on his face.
"Where you going? You thought I forgot about that shit you pulled in them messages today?"
Farah just gave him an innocent smile and tried to hug him. Trey burst into laughter and rubbed her back a little. She thought she was in the clear.
"You so cute. But I'm 'bout to tear yo' ass up. Get upstairs and strip. I'm talkin' 'bout have everything off when I get up there. And don't make me mad, Farah. You got five minutes."
She stared at him for two seconds before speed walking towards the stairs. Trey tapped her butt as a way of telling her to go faster, and she took off running. She was in for a treat tonight, and she ran a little faster when she heard his slow footsteps following behind her.
