The Next Day...

Please excuse any mistakes❤️

Across town, a little far from where Novah was being held, an ongoing investigation is happening. Ever since the night before police have been searching high and low for the individuals responsible for the crimes/acts committed; so far, no leads.

Laid out in a hospital bed connected to many machines was Treyton. He had just recently gotten out of a 6 hour long surgery, and it wasn't looking too promising as of yet. Doctors and nurses were so hesitant on leaving him unsupervised that they took extra measures and had someone in his room at all times no matter what.

Two doors down from Treyton was none other than his wife, Farrah, in even worse condition than him. Her surgery was longer by two hours due to the fact that she obtained much more damage in the wreck. The doctors had no hope for her, and were already preparing for the worst. In their eyes, it was only a matter of time before her end was here.

Back at the unknown location Novah was finally awake. The girl was out of it, though, and was in a dazed state. When she began to stir around and groan, one of the two men in the room wasted no time going to get who they refer to as "Bossman."

Walking in the room, the first thing he did was admire her. He wasn't sure himself what his next move would be, but he knew that he had to think of something quick.

"Hey, little Novah. Hey."

Novah was looking at the man still a little dazed. She began smacking her lips and looking down as well which then gave everyone in the room a glimpse of the gash that was on the side of her head.

"Who the fuck did that shit? What the fuck y'all been doing, man?"

The other two men in the room looked at each other confusedly. This was their first time being in the room and even seeing the little girl, so they weren't sure what had happened.

"We ain't do that shit, boss. We just got in here a few minutes ago, man."

"Well shit somebody did that shit. Don't even worry about it. Go get something to wrap it some shit. Matter fact, go get one of them girls. Tell 'em come clean her up."

The same man who went to get Bossman left back out. The one remaining was just watching Novah. He wasn't exactly sure why she was here, and he quite frankly wasn't feeling it either.

"What's the story wit' this one?"

"Ion even know. I was paid to get her here so I did. She ain't staying; her peoples coming for her soon."

While the two men had a conversation Novah was fighting to keep her eyes open. She didn't have enough strength to cry from all of the pain she was feeling nor did she understand what was happening.

"Dada? Mommy?"

The men stopped and looked at her upon hearing the rasps she was letting out. They didn't even know she could speak; Bossman was just as clueless as his workers when it came to her situation.

"What you say, girl? Repeat it."

Novah just looked at the man and let her eye close. Her ears felt as if they were trying to fold up inside themselves and it was making her headache worse. She dropped her head and began to let tears fall down her face.

"What you crying for, baby girl? What you need? Let me know something."

"Bossman" began to somewhat taunt her. He was know for his coldness, but this was even new to him. However, he had gotten his money and that was all that mattered. As long as he kept her alive, he couldn't care less what she actually wanted or needed.

"She prolly thirsty hungry too. How long she supposed to be here?"

"Few more hours. Go tell one of them to bring her something to drink real quick."

The man left out after sparing Novah one more glance. She was then left with his boss. Bossman walked over to the girl and squatted down in front of her, taking her little face in his big rough hand.

"You know yo' parents prolly dead? Huh? You know that?"

Novah just looked at him. She blinked slowly and let her eyes drift off to the side. Bossman didn't seem to like that, though, and he squeezed her face once.

"You can't talk, little girl? You stupid or something? What yo' problem is?"

While more tears welled up in Novah's eyes, he began to smile a sick smile. No matter who his victims are, he'd always be happy seeing them in pain or at least scared. Novah wasn't an exception.

"Yeah. Now you show some type of emotion. You must be dumb. What yo' name is?"

Once again she didn't respond. Instead she began to cough roughly being that she choked on the breath of air she inhaled. Her coughing went directly in the man's face, and that seemed to have flipped a switch in him. But before he could do anything with his now raised hand the door flew open.

"You wanted me, boss?"

He dropped his hand quickly and let go of Novah's face before standing back up leaving her on the floor coughing badly. He turned around to see the two men from before, who were watching him weirdly, and one of his female workers who was holding a first aid kit and bottle of water with a bored facial expression.

"Yeah. She got a cut or something on her face. Fix that shit for me."

The girl nodded and walked over to the girl. Novah was still coughing a little so she gave her the now opened bottle of water. As she drank it, the three men now stood by the door having a silent conversation.

"I think her people just got here. They sittin' in yo' office. How you going this?"

"Imma go make sure they got the other half of my money and then I'll bring 'em down here to her. Y'all stay and make sure that bitch patch her up good."

The men just nodded and watched as he walked out. They then put their attention on the woman and Novah as she had began cleaning and patching up the girl's wound. That took her about twenty-five minute since Novah would wince and move her head every so often. It got done nonetheless.

By the time the woman had finished wrapping Novah's head and was in the process of gathering everything she did and didn't use, they all heard voices approaching the room. When the door swung open, everyone's attention went to it.

"She in here. One of my men, I think, cut her a lil' bit. It ain't nothing crazy though. I got somebody to fix it."

As Bossman led the way in, the couple behind him let out a little chuckle. They didn't care about anything as long as the girl was alive and breathing. They were on a mission and a little cut wasn't about to stop that.

"As long as she not dead we don't care, man. We just need to get her and get gone."

The couple came into view and Novah finally looked back up. As soon as she did, though, tears immediately began to pool in her eyes once again. The man and woman, however, just smiled an almost sinister smile at her.

"Hey, baby. You ready to go back home?"
