I'm not back but I am better

With the sudden black fog appearing in mid-air, a figure slowly walked out of the gate like mist. His figure standing upright as the black mist of fear around his body slowly faded from his back and to nothingness.

Reiji stood there with a careless look, one of his hands raised and a smile on his face as he greeted his own twin brother laying on his bed. Despite his calm and collected look, Reiji felt like he was on cloud nine, revealing himself to Rikuo as a long-lost brother back from the dead felt amazing to his cliched ego.

If Inei was here, he would mock this guy for his utterly childish thoughts.

Staring at the standing figure of Reiji, Rikuo was frozen in his seat. 

The boy felt elated and surprised at Reiji's sudden appearance! A few minutes ago, he had made up his mind that he would bring back his brother and reconnect with him. Rikuo never expected Reiji to suddenly show up in front of him, he was really happy. But, even though he was happy, a sense of guilt also came creeping up behind him. He wanted to make up for lost time and get along with him as they did in the past.

Seeing his younger twin look exactly like him but with colder and harsher eyes didn't really speak a "good environment" with the time he spent away from the clan. That fact scared him about what could have happened to Reiji during those few years.

Similar thoughts also ran through Tsurara's mind.

Back when she got a first look at him at school, she really wasn't able to think much about it. But taking a closer look now, Tsurara felt a sense of dread. 

Though there wasn't much age gap between the both of them, Tsurara had somewhat been the caretaker of the twins since they were young. Rikuo pulled pranks on her and the other yokais while Reiji often stood beside her playing and saying he admired her. Reiji always had this sparkle in his eyes every time he got to play with everyone, but looking at his grown self now, it felt empty. . .

His innocent self was gone like the wind.

"Reiji-sama. ." Tsurara murmured to herself.

Slowly standing up, Rikuo approached Reiji.

"Reiji. . ." Rikuo muttered "Your back!" He said excitedly expecting a bright response.

"No, I'm only here to help train you."

"Eh, what?" Receiving a cold answer from Reiji, Rikuo was taken aback by his brother's sudden change. He expected it, but not by this much.

Seeing this confused reaction from Rikuo, Reiji closed his eyes with a sigh, "Rikuo Nura, you're going to be the next Supreme commander of the Nura clan, and as per agreement with Nurarihyon, I will train you to act like it. So, I'm technically not back but I am better than before."

Gently shoving the eldest back to his futon, Reiji sat across Rikuo and put on a kind look, not letting the other interrupt him.

"Also, as of now, I am your cousin. So let's get along Rikuo." 

"Wait, what do you mean by--" Before Rikuo could even get a word in, the sliding door was suddenly opened, revealing Kiyotsugu and the others.

Seeing Rikuo's classmates arrive, Nurarihyon slowly excused himself from the room but first, he gave candies to them. They didn't taste good.

"Oh! *Oikawa-kun, Kareki-kun your already here!" Kiyotsugu loudly greeted.

"Hey, Nura-kun were coming in!"

"Excuse us!~"

"Excuse me!~"

As everyone stepped inside the room, Rikuo suddenly was in a panic, not noticing that Reiji was also wearing the same uniform as them. Tsurara on the other hand was calmer but she too was nervous about them asking questions.

"Damn it! They're here and Reiji's still inside the room!' Rikuo worriedly thought.

"He- Hey guys! I didn't expect you guys here, what are you all doing at my house?" 

"Well, a certain idiot caught a cold, so we are here to visit you, Nura-kun!" Kiyotsugu explained as he slowly walked beside Reiji. Whilst Shima discreetly glared at Rikuo who had Tsurara beside him.

Seeing this action from Kiyotsugu made Rikuo panic on the inside, even more, he didn't know what Reiji's reaction would be or what kind of questions Kiyotsugu and the other would ask, so he was really frantic.

"Ah- Um! Ah, I don't know if you have met yet but--"

"Kareki-kun!" Kiyotsugu patted Reiji's shoulder, cutting Rikuo's 'excuse', "Nura-kun, meet Kareki Reiji-kun, he is a transferee student in our class. He is also a new member in our Paranormal Patrol!" He announced followed by a proud laugh.

The older Nura could only awkwardly nod, relieved they weren't discovered.

"Speaking of Kareki-kun, doesn't he and Rikuo-kun look like carbon copies of each other?" Natsumi asked, fixing her black hair to the back of her ear.

Ah, this could be trouble.
