Inside one particular wooden house, a battle was going on.

A young man with a long yellow and black hair tied on a loose ponytail, wearing a black yukata was fighting against a gigantic yokai.

With his fingerless gauntlets and three sharp knives attached to it, he sliced open the yokai making blood splatter everywhere.

With its last and final breath, the beast fell down to his end never rising again.

Reiji, stood up straight and swung his bladed gauntlets in a fast motion to get rid of the blood.

With a satisfied look on his face, he watched the beast yokais disappear into black mist, slowly melting in the thin air.

"That was easy..." Reiji muttered as he retracted the blades like wolverine.

His eyes flashed a red dull color as he gazed at his weapon with a smirk.

"It was a great wish I suppose.. I have to thank a certain overpowered farmer for this." He said to himself as he looked down with happiness.

As he was happily looking at the gauntlets, a man from behind emerged from the shadows and crossed his arms with a frown.

"I think it's about time you stop doing that..." he said harshly

Reiji turned to look at the man with a goofy expression, an unlikely sight to see from a handsome young man with a sharp look.

"How can I not? This shit's amazing Rozo!" He said childishly as his gauntlets shined white.

As it turned white, both of the gauntlets turned to a slime like appearance then proceeded to form like a sword, a katana to be exact.

It had a wooden sheath and a wooden handle, both glimmering with a dark hue of dark oak wood.

"It never cease to amaze me how such a thing exist in this world" Rozo said impressed.

"Welp, I got this as a wish!" Reiji grinned like a child.

Rozo could only sigh at this childishness coming from his friend, he exhaled a deep breath and leaned over to the wooden wall.

He raised his head up and looked at Reiji in all seriousness.

"Its already been 7 years.. I guess it's time.. " he said sincerely but it was also clear that in his voice also contained sadness.

Reiji's grin lowered down to a simple smile and gazed at his friend warmly.

It's been exactly 7 years since he left home and found the friends that treated him like a true family.

They went through countless journeys around Japan and grew their influence among the yokai around the country, being feared as one of the most powerful clanless groups.

Even capable of fighting toe to toe against one of the most prominent clans in Japan, the Hyaku Monogatari clan (Hundred stories clan).

A clan know for their stories that spread fear among the humans, through which they acquire their power. Formerly, the clan used to have countless yokais at their beck and call, but was quickly ended by the largest yokai faction in Japan, the Nura clan.

Led by Rihan a few hundred years back, they stripped the Hyaku Monogatari of their power.

The same man, known as Reiji's deceased father.

"We've been through quite a journey, Reiji.. " Rozo said as he moved closer to Reiji and patted his shoulder " but I guess it's time for you to go your separate way.." he said sadly.

Reiji warmly smiled at this emotional man and removed his hand from his shoulder.

"Despite being one of the toughest swordsman I know, you're quite the emotional wreck." Reiji chuckled as he turned his back to leave.

"And you got one thing wrong! I'm never leaving you guys! I'm just going on a line vacation to meet my good old family." Reiji turned his head around and gave one last smirk to Rozo, in which he grinned in return.

"Call us if you need us!" Rozo said loudly as his goodbye.

Reiji nodded his head and proceeded to turn into his own fear, disappearing from the wooded mansion, riding along with the wind.

Rozo waved bye to Reiji as he turned into mist. His smile never fading from his face.

But then something hit him.

"A crap! I forgot to grab her before Reiji leaves! Seo's going to kill me for this!!" A sudden hint of fear struck the man as he knew their 'elder sister' was going to murder him for his mistake.
