❝ But the scariest thing was that
she wasn't even a smidge close
to unlocking the mysteries of
Remus Lupin, she was left with
an unfinished puzzle. ❞
╰━ ⋅☾⋅ ━━✶━━ ⋅☽⋅ ━╯"We need a plan," James said to Lily as the two left the library where they had been studying together for their upcoming exams.
They had wandered across the topic of Remus and Marigold as Lily explained what happened during her talk with Remus just a few nights prior. James was shocked to find out that Remus had spoken of his furry little problem with Lily, that secret was something that the lycanthrope held so closely to himself. James was glad to see Remus finally letting people in for a change, he spent too long locking his feelings away, letting Lily in was a step forward.
James was lost on ideas of how to fix the mess that had been made, Lily had made it very clear to him that he was the one that had to fix the problem, but it would feel wrong if the issue was left unsolved.
James just wanted some fucking peace.Lily believed she understood Remus' problem, she just never understood why he thought Marigold would ever think so little of him. But Lily wanted to see everything back to normal, so she wouldn't rest until the two of them were at least on speaking terms.
"What are you proposing we do Potter?"
"I don't know but it needs to work, if I have to watch one of their long and pitiful staring contests again I might have a stroke" he dramatically said as they walked through the corridors on their way down to the lake in search of Sirius.
It was weird to see the redhead and raven-haired boy getting along without bickering.
It was strange how natural they felt around each other, it had always been James chasing after Lily, what seemed to be a never-ending and taunting chase. But now they had time to start a real friendship.
James and Lily's newfound companionship had surprised many people who attended Hogwarts, after countless years of constant arguing and exaggerated romantic gestures most people believed that the girl would never spare another look to potter after his little rundown with Severus Snape. But without Snape in the way, the girl found it much easier to make friends and take to people. She never realized the Slytherin boy had a sort of hold on her, one that never let her permit people to break down her walls.
It was a fresh start.
"So Potter what's going on inside that big head of yours? I know you're scheming, I wanna help," she said gaining a smirk from the boy.
