Remus leaned on the headboard of his bed, a book in his hand propped up on his knee, Mari's back against his chest as she scribbles on a slip of parchment.

A happy sigh escapes from her lips as she revises the letter she is sending to her headmaster, sending her request to live off-campus while finishing her semester at St. Mungos.
Knowing Professor Bagman's kind and understanding self she assumed he would have no trouble with the question. It was Dumbledore she was afraid to ask.

She smiles softly signing the letter with her full name and a smiley face, folding it and shoving it in one of Remus' lilac envelopes.
"Done" she slipped out of bed and walked over to James' owl, which she asked if she could borrow, placing the letter in his talons and giving the brown bird a pet before sending him off.

Remus sat with a satisfied smile on his lips as he watched her gracefully move around the room. Her eyes roamed around the room she had grown to love, the boy's Gryffindor pride on display, her hand feeling the soft red and gold tapestry on the wall and she picked up the prank planning parchments from off the floor.

"It's moments like these that I'm gonna miss the most" he mumbled, shutting his book as she returned to her spot. Remus placed a short kiss on the crook of her neck as she let out a giggle at the surprising contact.
"We'll have many more moments just like these, as long as we are together we will always be home" she mused like a lovesick fool.

Her heart quietly thumped in her chest as he placed another kiss to the backside of her shoulder, a small hum leaving his lips as she melted into his warmth.
"Remus," she said turning around to face him, "I love you" she confessed like it was the first time she'd said it.

A soft expression took over Remus' features. He would miss moments like these, moments where they felt at most peace. But he knew that in his near future, as long as Marigold Montgomery was the person he was waking up and falling asleep next to every day, Remus would be content with his life.
No matter the circumstances, if Marigold was the one to pepper kisses on his collarbones or across his face, running her fingers through his hair while he was poorly, Remus would never feel less than whole.
Because as cheesy as it sounded, she was his other half.

"I love you more than I could ever put into words," he said in a hushed tone, his hand finding hers, needing to touch her, to prove that he was living in the present.

Her face lit up with rosy blush as she leaned into his touch, "thank you for making me whole" she mumbled, turning around so her lips could find his with a gentle touch.
