❝ Remus smiled at her as he
noticed she was wearing his tee-shirt,
something so stupid that still
made him giddy ❞

The two of them waiting for their significant others who were on a mission together with Alice and Sirius."Do you want sugar?" She placed the mug full of green tea next to his plate, along with a small carton of milk.
"Milk is just fine" he mumbled tiredly as he stirred some into the tea."When are your final exams?" He pointed at the textbook laying in the middle of the kitchen table.
"They're in two weeks," she said with a sigh, sitting down in the chair across from him, flipping through the study notes that were shoved into the pages of the hefty looking book.
He nodded as he watched her gather them in a neat pile and set them to the side, "why is Lily on a mission if she is a training healer?""I'm assuming it's to practise what she's been learning, Padfoot is with them so I assume she'll be dealing with his clumsy arse" he joked quietly, strange to see him so reserved.
James Fleamont Potter was not one to stay silent, ever.
"Sirius is a handful" James nodded as he took a sip of his tea, "is it just me or is this the most awkward conversation we've ever had?" Mari asked as he slowly nodded again.
"It's me, I'm just stressed" he shrugged, "everything with the war and the missions has been piling up and I haven't been dealing" James' fingers tapped on the table and a look of pondering appeared on his face
He picked up on her tactics to make herself busy to pass the time. James noticed her bouncing knee and shaky hands, the subtle looks at the clock in the walk to see if any time had passed, it hadn't.
He placed his cup down quietly as he looked up at the blonde, his hands finding each other to crack his knuckles. The curly headed man had this look on his face, one that screamed that he had a thought stuck on his mind, just waiting to roll off his tongue.
"You worked on my Dad at St. Mungo's, he's still poorly and no one is telling me what's wrong" she slowly blinked as he vented.
His brows pulled together as his hands ran over the stubble growing in on his jawline. His father over the last few weeks had grown to another state of sickly, the doctors stated that his condition has worsened but wasn't at the point of no return.
James had been up to his neck with helping his mother do the housework and the important business that his father had always taken care of, all while training to be an Auror. His girlfriend was constantly away at school so he had lost himself in a pool of grief that he found weighing down on his chest.
