Vic's POV

My heart fell in an instant. All feeling I had left drained from my body, out of my eyes into tears. Seeing his face, looking at him after how long it's been took all emotion from me and I felt depressed again. They left me. He left me. I just sat there in dis belief of who was in front of me, and why he was here and how it wasn't because of me. I took a good look at him. He hadn't changed at all, besides he was way taller and he looked tired, exhausted, almost lifeless even. He still was muscular, like he always has been but it was his eyes that made him seem almost dead. Well, if I were in a room alone with Janice, I would probably look that shit too.

I couldn't find words to say. I didn't know what to say. My little brother was just looking at me as if I had resurrected or something. He looked speechless too.
But as I stared at him longer, I felt a rush of adrenaline pass through me as I thought of him leaving me. Never visiting. Never calling.

He left.

He wanted me gone, out of his life forever.

That's when I felt Kayleigh's hand on the small of my back, I guess she could sense that I was angry. But she said nothing, I said nothing, Janice said nothing, Mike said nothing, and we all just stood in silence trying to make something out of the feelings that had taken over us. I could feel my nails digging into the palm of my hands, as I was balling my fists out of anger. I was about to say something, but Janice beat me to it, saying the worst thing in a situation like this.

"Well, this is awkward isn't it?" She said louder than necessary, while clapping her hands "wait, hang on, how do you know each other?"

"We're brothers." I spoke reluctantly. I wasn't sure how to handle this, so I just said what first came to my mind, which I should have known was a bad idea. "So, what are you doing here, Michael? Fucked around with her did you?" The anger was loud and clear through my voice, and I could tell Mike wasn't too happy about it.

"None of your business, Victor." He replied, "and don't act like you haven't done shit with her too. She told me about a Vic, didn't think for one second that it'd be you because last time I checked you were a virgin." I could see a small smirk on his face, he knew he was pushing buttons. Damn asshole.

"Last time I checked, you actually had some manners, I thought you gave up the attitude when you were 12?" I retorted.

"At least I don't have the body weight of a 12 year old, you lanky fuck." That one stung. I was used to his insults, it was one of the many things I didn't miss about him. But I didn't think he would ever go as far as he did just then.

I was about to speak, but I didn't get the chance. Kayleigh looked really pissed.

"How dare you. How dare you. You know what? You're pathetic. You walk in here, and find your brother that you haven't seen in what? 7-8 months? And you insult him about something that's not even his fault considering he has mental illnesses." She yelled, walking closer to Mike as she spoke as if to get into his face and intimidate him. She may be small, but damn, she was doing a good job. "I don't even know you, but I am disgusted. You left him at that hospital and you have the decency to be rude and disrespectful. I know him rather well, and I can see he is depressed about not having a family. I can tell. And now that I've met you, I think he's better off without one." She was now completely in his face, "unless you're willing apologise for that stupid comment, you can fuck off."
