Link's POV
I looked at the sun rising over the mountains around the domain. I stretched and looked at the zoras getting their day started. I then felt someone hold my left hand. I looked over to see that it was Mipha. "Good morning," she smiled sweetly."Good morning," I smiled back.
"So... what are we going to do today?"
"I don't know. There isn't really anything that has to be done."
"A-Are you sure? You don't think that anything special is happening today?"
"I don't think so. Of course, I always prove myself wrong."
"Well... I hope you do this time. I better get going." She let go of my hand and started walking away.
"Alright... Wait what do you mean 'this time'?" She didn't answer. There must be something happening today that I completely forgot about. If it's important enough for Mipha to say that, then I better figure it out fast. Maybe I wrote something about it in my journal.
I turned around and ran into Sidon. "Sorry, Link!" He stepped back.
"Oh no! I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention."
"Today must be exciting, isn't it?"
"Uh... yeah. Yeah it's going to be so exciting!"
"Can't believe that it's been... oh I don't even know how long!"
"Y-Yeah," I awkwardly laughed. "T-Time flies."
"So what do you have planned? Is it a picnic? Some sort of surprise?"
"...Both...?"
"You're a genius, Link! Don't worry, I won't tell her about it."
"Good... well I better p-prepare the stuff."
"Alright, have fun! See ya later!" He walked off and now I feel even more frantic. What is happening today? Was there a party that I unknowingly said that I'd help with or something? No wait... who's 'her'? It must have to be something about Mipha since she walked off like that. It's not her birthday... I think. The only other thing that I can think of is our anniversary... TODAY'S OUR ANNIVERSARY! How could I forget about our anniversary?! I have nothing planned! I need to think of something fast. I'll do the picnic idea and I'll figure it out as I go.
As I gathered the supplies for the picnic, I saw my zora armor next to my bed. Maybe we could do something about climbing the waterfalls. Then we could... I don't know. I'm too panicked to even think!
After gathering the supplies, I found Mipha talking with Kodah at the inn. I walked over to her and Kodah giggled. Mipha smiled and shook her head. "So you figured it out?" She sighed.
"What do you mean?" I shrugged. "You and I obviously know what day it is today."
"I believe only one of us does. I'll see you later, Kodah."

I set out the blanket in front of the waters of Vah Ruta. Mipha sat on the blanket and watched as I grabbed the roasted bass out of the basket. "Be honest, Link," Mipha started, "Did you really forget that today was our anniversary?"
"N-Now why would I forget such a wonderful day?" I stammered, handing a plate of food to her.
"You didn't seem like you knew what day it was this morning," she smirked.
"As a joke!"
"A very bad one I must say." We both started eating. "I'm surprised that the food tastes perfectly cooked. Since you forgot about today, I assumed that you would've cut corners."
"I did not—whatever. Thank you for the compliment." She giggled at my reaction.
After we finished eating, we made our way to Veiled Falls. I quickly changed into my zora armor and zora greaves. I noticed that Mipha was looking up at the waterfall. I walked over to her and put my arm around her. She looked at me and smiled. "I remember teaching you how to climb waterfalls for the first time," she said gently. "You still didn't know the true meaning of what this armor meant. I was excited, but so nervous."
"I was so oblivious," I chuckled. "However, even when I was wearing it I could tell that it was made with a special feeling in mind." I kissed her then rested my forehead on her's.

We sat on a rock above Veiled Falls looking at the sunset sky. "So what's next?" Mipha asked, resting her head on my shoulder.
"Well..." I started a bit hesitant. "I was thinking that maybe you pick what we do next." I mean, what else could I have us do? I could've had the kids do something, our friends could've done something, but I just wasn't prepared.
"You didn't plan this far, huh? Well that makes sense since you only had this morning to think about what we were going to do."
I sighed in defeat. There was really no point in trying to hide the fact that I didn't know about our anniversary until this morning. Especially since Mipha wasn't buying any of it. "I was thinking of doing some sort of surprise, but I just couldn't think of anything."
"If only you knew a couple days ago."
"I know. I'm sorry. This must be the worst anniversary that we've ever had so far. I can't believe that I forgot about our anniversary."
"Admittedly, it's not as eventful as the others. But, you have been busy lately, so it is only natural for you to forget things like this."
"Question: were you actually mad this morning when I obviously forgot about today?"
"A bit. It's kind of annoying to know that your husband forgot one of the most important days of your life."
"Yep, I screwed up. I'm such an idiot."
"Yes, you are." We both chuckled. "But at least that doesn't keep me from loving you." She softly kissed me and I kissed her back. This definitely wasn't the best anniversary, but it was still a good one.
