Winters War

Chapter 7:

"I, James Bucanan Barns, vow to love you always, not just through sickness and health but through every fight and rough night, through every hard time, through every moment of joy. I vow to keep you safe from harm with no hesitation. You are my world and I'm not letting anything ruin that. I vow that on your bad days I will be your shoulder to cry on, the arms that hold you tight. I vow to never let you feel as if you are alone in this world and to love you always and forever."

       She looked so beautiful in white. I could tell she felt out of place in the dress, she normally wore jeans and regular t-shirts. "I, Sapphire, vow to love you through everything, good times and bad. I vow to never stop loving you even if the world stops turning."

       I'm yanked from the windshield and on top of the truck. My eyes can't leave hers though, as her power surges, her eyes glow their bright blue. It feels as if the air has been ripped from my lungs. My Blue, she's alive! She's here! My thoughts are quickly ruined when I notice the two men pinning my arms back trying to keep me from moving. Suddenly the red headed girl jumps from the trailer on top of the truck we are currently on.

        Hard contact between her fist and my face knocks me off balance, nearly making me fall. Redwing starts firing at the young girl but it doesn't last long. We watch as she grabs the small machine and smashes it over her knee. "I always wanted to do that."I say before another blow. "Hands off!"Blue shouts as she tackles one of the men. I watch as she doesn't hold back.

      Sam finally joins us and goes after the other young girl. "Good of you to join the fight Sam!"I shout. "Ahhhhhh!"her scream practically makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. She is pinned beneath the man, his hand tightening around her throat. Her nails scratch the fabric of his clothes. I try to get to her but the another guys comes up to help restrain me.

       We all pinned, struggling to get to our feet. Suddenly a familiar shield makes contact with one of the men holding Sam. Everyone watches as the new Captain America and his sidekick come down to join the fight. He throws his shield again, taking out one of the men trying to pin me down. I try to rush to her  side but I'm too late. Before I can get to her I watch has lightning leaves her hand and shoots through the man. He flops around as billions of watts course through him. His body then drops, not a single muscle moving as she kicks him off the truck. "That's new."as I say as I look at her.

       Without hesitation I run up to her and wrap her in my arms. I expected the same reaction out of her but instead I'm met with her arms barely wrapping around me. "Blue!"I cheer as I cup her face. It's sunken in, exposing some of her cheek bones. "Did you just say Blue?"Sam shouts as he gets to his feet. He runs over and wraps her in another hug. This time she seems to be holding him as tightly as she could.

Suddenly the shield flies right past my head hitting another man. I turn in the direction it came from, annoyance plastering my face. "Sam, John walker." "Lamar Hoskins." "Looks like you guys could use some help."shouts John. The red headed girl then tries to run at him but he hits her with the shield before throwing it at me again, nearly hitting me. This time I catch it as it flies back to him.

This grunting noise grabs my attention forcing me to turn, Sam is struggling to fly away as two men try to pull him down. Screams erupt as I watch the men struggle to stand. I turn and look at Blue, her eyes glowing, sparks leaping between her fingers, she is manipulating the small electric currents in their brain. Normally this can knock anyone on their ass but these two are still standing. That's when it hits me.

With how hard they hit, how hard they are to fight, the resilience, they were injected with the super shoulder serum. They are just like me. I take this opportunity to leap for the truck and take out the first man he barely clings to the truck. Sam apparently decides to fight the other guy and throw him, making him hit me. The two of us fall over the side of the truck. With barely anything to cling on to I start to slip.

"Bucky!" There is was, the first time she has said my name or even anything since the last time I saw her. She reaches her hand out to me, trying to find some way to pull me up even though I know she isn't strong enough to. "Bucky take my hand!"she cries. The minute those words leave her mouth a voice enters my head "Bucky, grab my hand!" Then the metal breaks. "No!"

"Bucky, grab my hand!"she pleads. This time I try to reach for her. Our finger tips brush but only for a second as she is yanked away from me. My metal hand slips tearing at the metal of the trailer as I slide down. Somehow I am just barely able to save myself by clinging to some of the metal steps below. The man who got me knocked of the edge in the first place begins to slide down and stomps on my arm.

A sudden thud cause me to look up as Blue lays on her back near the edge of the other trailer. I watch helplessly as a man sits on top of her choking her. That's when I notice her left hand beginning to move slowly the sparks beginning to dance. I though she was going to use it on her attacker but no, screams of pain come from the guy trying to break my arm.

Sam swoops down beside the other trailer, "that little girl kicked your ass."he says, of course with this stupid look plastered on his face. "Ahhhh!" With another kick my arm flies to the ground, causing sparks to fly as it drags. My eyes dart up to see Blue just laying there, lifeless. I feel my heart stop beating. I was so close to finally having her back and they took that from me. They push her body of the edge just as Sam grabs her and me, sending us crash landing into a field.
