We land in Baltimore, Maryland. "Okay, follow me."I say as I grab my things and begin to head in the direction we need to go. "Hold on a second."she suddenly says. Sam and I both stop and turn to her, "any chance we could I don't know go someplace so I can get some clothes?"she asks. "Oh right, that is probably a good idea. Umm here."I say as I set my bag down and toss her one of my shirts. She catches it and stairs at me. "Put that on, it will cover most of you bruising and your clothes." She doesn't really object but she also doesn't look thrilled at the same time. Sam and I just stand there waiting for her to remove her torn shirt. There is just silence as she just stands there. "Are you going to change?"Sam asks. "Are you guys going to watch me change? If so I wouldn't mind getting some extra cash for it." Sam turns away as I take off my jacket and approach her
She looks up at me, her eyebrows slightly raised. My eyes lock on hers as I carefully wrap the jacket around her to keep others from seeing her, my grip firm on the material. "That doesn't mean I want you to see my either." Her words felt sharp and crisp as she says them. "Then how would you like me to cover you?" "Simple, turn around and stretch you arms out behind you. I'll place the sides of the jacket in your hands."she explains.
"You are making this way more complicated than it needs to be."I tell her. "James." Silence consumes the air around us, my eyes slightly wide at sharpness of my name. She never calls me James, not even when we argue. "Just turn around and do this please." I press my lips together as a sigh leaves my nose and my eyes fall to the cement below.
There is no point in trying to argue with her, so I slowly turn and stretch my arms out behind me. The smooth material of the leather brushes my finger tips. Then suddenly there is this gentle pull on my left arm. Carefully she holds it out just enough to place the other side of the jacket in my hand. The heat of her body then rushes it's way through the fabric of my clothes. Small bumps and brushes find themselves hitting my back and shoulders.
Goosebumps begin to cover my skin at her touch and suddenly all movement stops. "Everything okay?"I ask. The fabric of my shirt suddenly presses down on my skin, heat seeping through. "Who is that?"Steve asks, his index finger pointing behind me. Her small figure is barely in the line of sight when he sees her. I glance over my shoulder to see her almost freeze. I stretch my arm behind me slightly in order to keep her covered and keep her behind me, making sure she is safe.
"She is none of your concern." I tell him. The muscles in my body begin to tense as he tries to move closer, his eyes continually looking behind me. Her hand suddenly runs up my back and between my shoulder blades. Her small touch gets every muscle to begin to relax. Some how Blue's touch always was able to calm me down. Slowly she steps out from behind me to show herself, to show she wasn't afraid. I still keep my arm in front of her though, keeping her behind me slightly. If anything were to happen then I could cover her, and sure enough soon after something flies through the apartment window.
"Everything is fine just small amount of space."she says, her voice quiet and slightly breathless. She must be cold at this point. After a few more bumps she says "I'm ready." I drop one side of the jacket and turn to face her, Sam following suite. She is practically swimming in it. Blue's eyes catch mine and for a split second I could swear I could see her walls begin to crack. "Would you happen to have a spare sweatshirt or jacket?"she asks softly. "Yeah, give me a second."
I put my jacket back on before rustling through my bag. I found a big hoodie of mine and toss it too her. Part of me wanted to hand it to her but she used my first name. She has never used it before, her eyes have also grown cold again and her body language is very stand offish. Blue didn't want me near her, she didn't want me standing next to her, or walking up to her. Right now she doesn't want me and if things don't begin to change and heal then I honestly don't know if she will ever want me near her again.
