Chapter 31:

~Bucky's POV~

        There is silence in the room. John sits and looks back at the red, white, and blue shield staring back at him. I leaning against the railing by the stairs making sure no one has the chance to ruin Sam and Blue's chance. My mind on the other hand reflects back on everything that has happened.

      She apologized. Blue finally broke down enough and apologized. She showed me her true emotions. The old Blue was starting to come back piece by piece. "I'm scared James."her words keep playing in my mind. In all the years I have known Blue she has never once admitted to being scared. Not once. Part of me is angry with her though. She has treated me like shit when all I have done was try to help her.

She essentially told me that she didn't love me anymore. On the other hand I see her struggling. She is trying to figure her life out again, trying to make sense of her feelings, her new power. The world has beaten down and broken her so badly that she's scared to get back up.

Suddenly John stands up and begins pacing the room. "No, no, no. This is a bad idea."he starts. "It hasn't been 10 minutes John. Just sit tight."I tell him, my eyes still focusing on the ground as he continues pacing. "Don't do that. Don't patronize me."he snaps. "He knows what he's doing and so does Blue." He pauses for a moment before turning towards me.

"I'm going in."he says. I quickly step in front of him, my hand hitting his chest harshly. He backs up slowly. It's then I realize how dangerously close he is to me. "This is all really easy for you isn't it." I just stand in silence, his eyes trying to stare into my soul. "All that serum running through your veins."he continues, "Barnes, your partner needs back up in there. Your girl needs back up in there. Do you really want her blood on your hands?"
