Chapter 10

"Don't bring your boyfriend or suitors here."

That sentence seemed to be ringing on Jennie's mind until now. A part of her feels sad because maybe, Jisoo thinks she has a boyfriend... and it's not like she entertained her suitors back then. A part of her feels almost happy. She thinks of reasons why Jisoo said that.

Does she like me? She don't want to hurt herself seeing me with my non-existing boyfriend? She's jealous? Maybe she wants me but couldn't bring herself to confess? She wished she could ignore what she feels about that certain sentence because it is not putting her to sleep.

On the other hand, Jisoo is in her home office. Her home office is designed to look like a real office – a huge window with an overview to the garden outside, air-conditioned, motion desk, laptop, printer, photocopier, and almost everything in a real office.

Jisoo couldn't focus on the piles of paper in front of her. She thought that maybe her rules were irrational. She thought she was being selfish with her rules. But she shook her head.

You are not selfish Jisoo. It's for you and Jennie's sake. Yes, that's right. You care for the both of you. She said to herself.

Monday morning, Jennie woke up early – thanks to her body clock. She remembered that she has classes to attend and decided that she will cook for her and Jisoo. When she went downstairs, there is already a food on a plate and her things are already packed. She went near it then found a note beside it.

Good morning Jennie!

Good luck on your first day of class! Tell me later how it went.

Also, since you are taking a computer course, I realized you needed a laptop. Inside the bag is the laptop I used back then. Don't worry, it's still working efficiently and I installed the needed soft wares for you to be able to code and run a program. The path for the software is: Users/KJ/Programs(x86) . I also bought you a phone, I hope you don't mind. My number and Chaengie's number are already in your contacts.

Jennie unconsciously smiled while reading. She felt unexplainable warmth in her chest after that. She looked around for Jisoo and did not find her, maybe she went to work early. She opened her bag for school and was surprised at what she saw. Inside there is money bundled together with a note.

Allowance. Hope you can budget it till the end of the month? Don't worry if you can't, just tell me >.<                 -KJ

Jennie suddenly didn't know what to feel. Isn't Jisoo overdoing her help? She started to overthink. Maybe Jisoo wants some funny business with her? No, that doesn't seem possible. She thought.

Putting her thoughts aside, she decided to text Jisoo. A good morning and thank you text. She also texted Chaeyoung, informing the latter so that she could save Jennie's number.

Jennie went to classes with a smile on her face, she needs to make new friends here. A lot of students – both boys and girls – were staring at her like she is some model walking in a runway. She felt uncomfortable since it's her first day and no one is with her. Suddenly, a girl went to her and talked to her.

"Hi transferee!"

"Uhm, hi." Jennie replied timidly.

"Don't be scared of me. I'm Nayeon. Im Nayeon."

"H-hi. I'm Jennie. Jennie Kim."

"What classes you got? Oh! We have most of our classes together!"

"Wow! Can you accompany me around the uni later?"

"Ok Jennie! I'll tour you around the campus later." Nayeon said as she dragged Jennie with her into their classroom.

Jennie wasn't really listening to her professors. Her mind was flooded with the thought of what Jisoo had gave her already for just a span of 2 days, almost 3 days, that they are together. Maybe she should ask Jisoo everything since she doesn't know where the intentions of Jisoo are coming from. She's too good to be true. Jennie thought.

On Jisoo's office, the CEO can't focus on her works too. She always remain on the same piece of paper that she is holding.

"Jisoo, are you okay?" Chaeyoung asked her.

"Yes. I was just thinking about something."

"Okay, you seemed to be spacing out a while ago."

Jisoo was worrying if she scared Jennie with what she is doing. First, she didn't allow Jennie to bring her someone to her house. And second, she gave Jennie a lot of things. Jennie might now think she has some not so good intentions. She really only has pure intentions – to help Jennie, but what if that is not what Jennie thinks?

That night, Jennie got home before Jisoo. She wanted to have clear answers and not only her assumptions. She cooked chicken knowing that it is the elder's favourite food, maybe it could calm Jisoo's mind while she is asking questions.

At 7pm, Jisoo arrived at their house. She made herself look cool to not scare Jennie anymore.

"Hey Jisoo. I cooked your favourite." Jennie said with a nervous smile.

"Thank you. How was your first day at class?"

"Great, and I made a new friend."

"That's good."

The dinner is silent. The weird type of silent. Jisoo is trying a lot not to look like a creep and Jennie is gathering all her courage to ask Jisoo the question. When she observed that Jisoo is almost done eating, she decided to pop the question.

"Jisoo."

"Hmm?"

"I want to ask you something."

"Go ahead."

"Uhmm... it's not like I'm complaining or what. I'm just really curious, that's all."

"Okay?" Jisoo replied expecting Jennie to continue.

"I just noticed that you've been so kind to me. Like spending on my clothes, giving me gadgets and allowance, not forcing me to do stuffs... you know."

"Mmm." Jisoo replied and nodded as she now has an inkling on what Jennie might be talking about. "What about it?"

"First thing, I really want to thank you. Thank you so much for letting me stay here and uhm, giving me the things I need." She paused for a moment and started fidgeting her fingers. "I'm sorry but I just wanted to know."

"I understand. What's your question?" Jisoo said as she met Jennie's gaze.

"You aren't intending on making me your sugar baby, don't you?"
