Jennie just came from her room and was greeted by a sight of Jisoo grinning at her phone. Coffee aroma was strongly smelled as she neared and roasted beef was on the table. Seeing breakfast on the table wasn't unusual--it is seeing Jisoo use her phone at the table and even more, grinning at it.

"Oh, good morning to you Jen," Jisoo greeted in a chanting way.

"Nice morning Jisoo!" Of course, Jennie has to return that energy.

While they were eating, Jisoo was silent but her eyes could be seen smiling. The sides of her lips are slightly upwards and her cheeks get more puffed up.

This mood has brightened Jennie's day already, she could feel the air cold against her skin and she feels floating. She'd mark this day on her mental calendar.

Jisoo's phone received messages simultaneously and the notifications went one after the other. Jisoo put her fork down and opened her phone to see the messages. Her lips curved into a closed smile because she's eating, her eyes turned into crescents--with her cheeks filled with food, making it look smaller.

Okay, suspicious--for Jennie, it was. First, Jisoo using the phone while eating. Phone bombarded with messages. Smiling while eating. Wide smile while reading messages. Weird.

Jennie shrugs off that thought, considering that it's been just a few days after the new year. Probably, work has been piled up at Jisoo's company.

Jisoo has few things to do in her company. Who would have tons of stuff to do when they just got from holidays? But still, she has to go there to check up on her workmates and probably feel like a celebrity.

"Happy birthday Jisoo!" Chaeyoung entered her office with a paper bag and a box. "Miss Oldie."

"Shut up Chaeng," Jisoo chuckled. "Like you're not going older in a month."

"Here's my gift for you," Chaeyoung said as she placed her gifts on the table. "If you liked my gifts, treat me to a nice lunch!"

Jisoo peeped through the gifts and grimaced, pretending to not like the presents. With a frown she faced Chaeyoung but suddenly she decided not to continue the prank. They just both laughed hard and lunch is now on Jisoo.

For lunch, they had chicken wings which obviously, was Jisoo's choice. For Chaeyoung, food is food and she's fine with anything classified as food.

"I'm 24 now.. could you believe it?!" Jisoo asked.

"No, I don't really care about your age," Chaeyoung shrugged.

"Meanie!" Jisoo pouted and faked a cry.

"Just kidding haha!" Chae tried to save herself and added, "Honestly, you look younger than your age. It's fine."

Jennie observed her classmates. They were showing their phones to each other and gushing on whatever was on their screen.

"What's with everybody on their phones?"

She opened her phone too so she can see it from her social media but, too bad, Nayeon and Chaeyoung were the only people on her feed.

"Nayeon, you," she called for her friend to come over to her seat. "What's with the people? Like, why are you guys smiling?"

"Goodness! You don't know?!" Nayeon was shocked. She scanned Jennie's face and it showed no hints of joking. "Do you know Kim Jisoo? KJS Corp?"

"I think I do," Jennie answered with furrowed brows. She's the closest to Jisoo--that's what she thinks, and she must've known what's going on in Jisoo's life.

"It's her birthday today!" Nayeon exclaimed. "She just posted her photo on her IG account!" She showed Jennie the photo and Jennie read the caption

24th today. Thank you for the gifts and greetings😊

That explains why; Jisoo's phone with notifications, wide smile, everybody smiling. It now makes sense. Jennie felt ashamed and her mood went down.

Why didn't Jisoo tell her? They're housemates, they eat meals together, they do things together but why must Jisoo hide this?

Okay, maybe it was Jennie's fault too. Jisoo is a well-known figure, one could search for her on the internet and then they'll know her public details.

She shuts her eyes and try to remember the time she searched for Jisoo. Maybe she has been distracted by Jisoo's voice that's why she ended up watching her interviews or maybe by her face, that's why she ended up taking screenshots of her face--but none of her infos. For Jennie, it was shameful on her side.

She didn't even notice that Nayeon was still beside her.

After the classes, Jennie saw Jisoo at their campus gate. She went with the flow of the crowd so Jisoo will not notice her.

She breathed out a sigh of relief as she saw Jisoo not notice her until she's out the gate. Next mission to find a gift shop starts now! Jennie wasn't familiar with the streets--maybe it was Jisoo's fault for fetching her that she doesn't walk through these streets. Where in this area could she find a shop?

She was lost in her thoughts now. She has no idea where her feet are taking her. How would she return to her school or at least return to Jisoo's house after this? She doesn't know but she'll just worry about it later.
