Only Yours (Jensoo)

Chapter 13

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday morning passed by and Jisoo is still staying away from Jennie. Jennie can't even pinpoint whether it is done intentionally or not. Jisoo greets her chirpily but politely declines dinner. Is she really just busy in her home office or she is avoiding Jennie?

Jennie feels frustrated. She shouldn't have just asked her crush that question - that one sentence that affected her whole week. She doesn't even mind if she becomes a sugar baby because she wants to be in an intimate relationship with Kim Jisoo. But it's really not her intention though, she has only pure intention and admiration for the CEO.

Her hand itched to fish for her phone in her bag and hastily dialled for Chaeyoung's number. She and Chaeyoung had contacted a lot recently since she would call first or Chaeyoung would call to check up on her.

"Yow!"

"Hi Chaeyoung! What you doing?"

"Oh, I and Jisoo are at the office cafeteria right now. We'll be having lunch together. Jisoo, say hi to Jennie... How about you?"

"Here at the canteen, will buy lunch." Jennie felt that she should hung up since it would seem rude to talk to Chaeyoung when she's with Jisoo. "I'd just call you later, okay?"

"Sure. Bye!"

Hearing Jisoo and Chaeyoung having lunch together didn't sit well with her. Although Jisoo said hi to her on the phone, she's starting to think a lot of things.

Are they like dating? Does she like Chaeyoung? Why would she eat lunch with Chaeyoung but not have dinner with me? Did my question hurt her that much? Jennie is having painful thoughts inside her mind right now.

At the cafeteria, Jisoo and Chaeyoung were about to eat when Jennie called. After Jennie hung up, Chaeyoung started a conversation to ease the awkwardness she feels. She's guessing that Jennie would ask her about Jisoo since she was told that Jennie is avoided by Jisoo and it would be embarrassing to talk about Jisoo in front of her.

"We check up on each other a lot during lunch, so yeah..."

"That's great! You have each other's shoulders."

"Mm-hmm, let's eat."

While eating, Jisoo can't hold in her curiosity anymore.

"Chaengie?"

"Yeah?" 

"You told me you guys check up on each other. Does she sometimes ask about me?" Jisoo didn't exactly know what answer she wants to hear so she just anxiously wait for the response.

"Well... since that time she asked about you, she never asked again." Chaeyoung thought that Jisoo would hate to know that someone is asking about her because she has a private life too.

In contrast to what Chaeyoung thought, Jisoo felt disappointed.

Jennie seems to be fine without me talking to her. She frowned and continue eating.

Jennie called Chaeyoung while her professor isn't there yet. She could not spend the weekend with Jisoo ignoring (or probably not ignoring) her.

"Hey Jennie! I waited for you to call again after lunch."

"Sorry, I called right now since my prof isn't here yet."

"Okay... Just got out from our office room, why did you call?"

"Haha you had a hint I was to ask about Jisoo."

"Better safe sis! Hahaha. So yeah, why'd you call?"

"I noticed that these past 2 days, she comes home late. But she doesn't seem tired. She says she had dinner already and she has this smiley face with her. Do you know why?"

"Well, she invited me to dinner these past days telling me she is craving for something. That's why she gets home late and she says she had dinner. I just don't know about her smiley face though haha."

"Hmm, I see."

The two continued to have chitchats after a few minutes then hang up.

Jennie felt sad. She cooks dinner for Jisoo and her but Jisoo asks Chaeyoung to accompany her to dinner. Was she hurt that bad about that question? Does Jisoo like Chaeyoung? Is it like a date?

I have no right to feel this way. I didn't tell Chaeyoung that I have a crush on Jisoo. Maybe Jisoo won't like me since I depend on her a lot meanwhile Chaeyoung has a job and Jisoo doesn't spend a lot on her. Chaeyoung's height is nearer to Jisoo, Chaeyoung already graduated college, Chaeyoung is drop-dead gorgeous, they must be a perfect match. 

A lone tear fell from her eye and she immediately wiped it away.

At night, Jisoo arrived at her house. She didn't had a dinner with Chaeyoung since Chaeyoung told her that her roommate will cook for her. It's not that she's hungry, she's just delaying coming to her house.

She's not in a bad mood, she's not hurt. She feels neutral. Her attraction to Chaeyoung was getting stronger and she starts to feel that her attraction to Jennie already faded away.

She entered her house and saw Jennie at the couch with her face blank.

"Hi Jennie. You okay?" Jisoo gave tight-lipped smile.

"I noticed that you're early."

"Yeah, Chaeyoung said she promised her roommate that they'll have dinner together."

"Let's have dinner together." Jennie demanded.

"Sorry, I'm not really hungry. I'll take a rest for now."

She was about to go upstairs when Jennie blocked her way with her arms spread wide.

"Tell me Jisoo, are we okay?"
