Chapter 2 One Too Many Questions

Turning back around and gasping, Lieur exclaims,
"Great Sage Equal to Heaven?!"
Your eyes widened as the world around you appeared to stand still. The Great Sage Equal to Heaven! That's my beloved! My Wukong!

Memories began resurfacing back into your mind of your life. Snippets of cherished moments spent raced through your mind. Your first meeting with Wukong flashing forward to your relationship then your last moments.

"Wukong! Please be careful, I can't be a proper Queen without my King."

"Hah! You wound me dear wife, do you think your King could fall so easily?"

"You're right how forgetful of me. But please, come back to me."

"Nothing in this world could keep me from you my love,... I'll see you when I return."

By the time you remembered, you felt someone shaking your arms. Blinking you looked up to see,
"Lieur?"
He looked at you worryingly before he pointed to the gorge and said,
"Y/N! The Great Sage left, please you have to help me get to him! He's your husband right?"

You nodded determinedly before picking up Lieur. Quickly he pointed down, following his finger you saw a tiny groundhog?
"Y/N the Master Groundhog knows where the Great Sage went!"
You looked at the tiny being before both you and Lieur bow and thank him.

You made sure Lieur was secure before you jumped and climbed the mountain side. As you continued climbing you say,
"Lieur I need you to keep a lookout for me okay?"
Lieur makes a confirmative hum before he begins scanning for the Great Sage.

You reach the top and find yourself in a forest clearing. Your eyes scan around before they finally settle on-Wukong! It's him! It's really him! My love you don't know how happy I am to see you.

You set the children down as your eyes roam over your love's body. Taking and burning every inch of him that you thought you'd never see again. Before you know it Lieur calls out,
"Great Sage! Hold on!"

Your breath stops in your throat as Wukong turns his head; regarding Lieur before he notices your figure standing off behind. Your eyes meet his and the world fades away.

Before you know it your legs carry you until you're right in front of him. Both of you are facing, each taking in the other's face. Your trembling voice barely above a whisper, softly states,
"Wukong"

His eyes widen for a fraction of a second before his arms begin to reach out to you. He places his left hand on your cheek while his right arm wraps around your waist. Leaning into the hand cradling your face, his own voice thick with emotion starts,
"Y/-"

The emotional reunion is broken by the sound of small feet and the words,
"Great Sage! Wait for me!"
Startled you both look behind to see Lieur trying to make his way over a fallen tree log.

Suddenly Sun's arms take you close and cradle your body as he frantically looks around. Not expecting the abrupt action you're caught off guard. Eyes settling on a tree, Wukong quickly runs behind it; plastering the both of you to the trunk.

As you're about to question the purpose of his sudden actions, Sun begins to snicker. Bringing his giggling gaze to you, Wukong is met with a bemused look. Before an all too familiar voice from right beside you two, calls out,
"Great Sage, what are you doing here?"

You briefly look down to see Lieur's earnest gaze, before returning your gaze back to your beloved. You begin to giggle at the jolted look Wukong has; he regards Lieur with an exasperated expression that shifts into a defeated one.
