Chapter 12 A Lover's Quarrel Down Memory Lane

A/N Ahhhhhhhhh! You lovely's don't know how much I'm excited for this chapter. Like this was also the shortest time I felt like spent writing even though I know I put tons of writing in, but ehh it doesn't matter. Also Angst warning IG?       Sun's feet touched the ground before he placed you down too. Grabbing your hand, he marched forward toward the sets of cottages littered on the floor and among the trees. Both of you came upon a monkey tending to dirty laundry. Seeing their outfit, you identified the monkey a female. Most likely a mother cleaning and repairing sullied clothes. Approaching her, the two of you looked at each other before gently clearing your throats.

     "Excuse me M'am." The female lifted her head to you both, saying, "Yes?" Once her eyes locked onto your forms and Sun's armor she gasped out, "Could it be?! Is it really you my King and Queen?!"

      Her words rang in your ears as you saw tears spring to her eyes. Before you could say or do anything, she flings herself at you. Her smaller arms clinging to your waist as she buries her face into your chest. You're caught off guard for a moment, your arms frozen before you sighed out amusedly. Your eyes take in her sniffling form before you smile, wrapping your arms around her and pulling her into a hug. She freezes before her tears fall harder. She sputters out a, "My Queen! We missed you so much!"

       Your hands rubbed her back softly before you gently reassured, "There, there, it's alright, you don't need to cry." You felt her sob out a hiccup before she pulled away, her hands reaching up to wipe her tears. You tenderly smiled while you waited for her to calm down, once she regained her bearings she stuttered, "M..My Queen! You don't know how h..happy I am to see you! When you left so suddenly we were all so worried!" A small frown pulled on your lips at her last words. Oh, my subjects I'm so sorry for my abrupt actions and what you went through.

      The female seeing your face sputtered out, "My Queen, I didn't mean to make you sad! Please! Forget I said anything!" Coming to your senses you knelt down before the female and placed your hand on her shoulder. Looking at her with somber eyes, you state, "No, please don't apologize for the pain my actions brought you all. As your Queen I should've ensured my people were taken care of before I went off to speak with Buddha." You rose up before finishing, "I hope you and everyone else can forgive my actions."

     At your apology, the female was shocked before she exclaimed, "No apology needed my Queen! We all understood and supported your decision. Now please! Follow me!" She looked at Sun, who was confused during the entire interaction, before adding, "You too my King! We must tell everyone that you both have returned!" She hurriedly picked up her basket before running ahead, you moved to follow after her, but the sudden pulling on your tail caused you to yelp and stop. You turn around to your lover, confused by his actions. Sun ignores you for the moment as he regards the hurrying female; seeing her already far away, Sun called out, "You go on ahead! We will meet up with you!" You heard her shout out, "Yes my King!" before she continued on.

     Now just the two of you, you furrowed your brows before asking, "Sun, why did you stop me? I thought we were going to follow her." At your words, your lover looked to you, his face was neutral as he asked, "What was she talking about Y/N?" You froze at his question before trying to play it off by saying, "It was nothing, don't worry about it love, it's in the past." You side step around him to catch up but his hand reached out and grabbed yours. Pulling at your hand, he halted your movements before moving in front of you. Sun looked at you closely before stressing, "What did she mean my dear, please."
