The panther's eyes widened but before he could move a muscle, spines shot out and pinned down the guy sneaking up behind him.

Both Aizawa and Todoroki's eyes went wide.

Black spiky hair came into view, along with scarred patches of skin on his arms and legs as the porcupine flattened the spines on his back to appear less threatening.

"Dabi..." Todoroki muttered.

Dabi, the porcupine, smirked. "Hello, little brother. I heard you called."

"Shut up, I did not." Todoroki retorted pridefully and Dabi chuckled.

"Now, now, don't be like that." He tsked, making a show of looking around at the mess he had made with his brazen attacks. His little brother was always one to get the job done quickly. "Dad's gonna have a field day."

Todoroki scoffed haughtily. "He can kiss my—"

"Todoroki!!" Aizawa scolded firmly, warning him not to finish that sentence.

At least, not right now. They could get into all of that later on.

Dabi straightened up and his expression turned serious as he sent his spines towards another who moved to get up, deadly precision embedding the sharp-tipped spears within an inch of their skin.

"Don't move." He ordered, cerulean eyes flashing. "Or I'll be forced to take off your pretty limbs."

No one dared get up or fight back after that.

"Now," Dabi started, clicking his teeth as he brushed the blood off of his shoulder from where it had spurted from that one guy he ran into on the way here. "Hawks?"

Aizawa nodded towards something he couldn't see. "Providing relief for the rescued along with Tokoyami and Ojiro."

Todoroki nodded to confirm it, but there was a more pressing matter to attend to.

One unaccounted for king cobra that was nowhere to be found on the battlefield that was rapidly dying out as the teachers and the Eastern Alliance wiped them out.

Dabi's mouth pulled back in a snarl and he only acknowledged an exhausted-but-still-capable-of-fighting wolverine as he flanked to his other side. "What are we waiting for then? Let's get this son of a bitch."

"Not so fast." Aizawa interjected, glaring at the younger when he opened his mouth to challenge him. "You need to be careful."

"Fuck that." Dabi retorted.

Todoroki held up his hands before his oldest brother and his old teacher could get in a spat when they were supposed to be hunting for Shigaraki. Most of the warriors had fallen back to take care of the refugees and escort the injured. Only a few of the Eastern Alliance remained on the battlefield.

"He'll take whoever's left that can still fight on our side while you collect the other teachers." Todoroki informed Aizawa matter-of-factly, his logic sound. "Fair?"

Dabi nodded and Aizawa rubbed the back of his neck and sighed but knowing that his hands were tied, caved in.

"Take Jirou with you, she's got a good nose." Aizawa instructed to send them off ahead as the said wolf hobbled over, a little confused as to what was going on. "And don't do anything foolish."

Dabi shrugged noncommittally as Midoriya filled his friend in. "No promises."

The retired heroes of old gathered and together, along with the students and the sharp-witted misfit, they slinked along the edges of the territory, on the hunt for something with shiny black scales and a soul to match.
