[Warning: Mention of Death, Choking, Cleithrophobia, Almost dying]
Luz sighed laying down on her bed.
Her roommate's bed was empty tonight. Again.
She's always been... Alone.
She knew that nobody in that other bedroom was in there. She knew that when she twisted the knob on that other door, nobody will be there and it'll be unlocked for her to use however she wanted.
For someone who's only fourteen, living alone like this was a little stressful for her. Missing her mom while being alone makes it worse.
She sat up from her bed and looked around her room.
There was nothing to do, she stared at the only window of the room.
It was... Shut. It was quiet. Really quiet.
The usual whispering of her dormmate being just beside her dorm wasn't making any noise.
There wasn't the usual whispering about her being an outcast and a downright weirdo in class.
No, nothing was there.
Maybe they finally gave up with the whispering because she was in a different class now? Maybe they... Died?
She flinched snapping from such thoughts.
She clicked her tongue and held her head down with both hands.
"Don't think about that..!" She muttered.
Then she finally heard something.
It was... A thump.
Like, something or someone hit the wall beside her's.
She raised her head to look at the wall she shared with a neighbor.
Nothing came after.
There was nothing but just a thump.
But the sound of another thump and thuds made shook her core to jump.
Slowly crawling out of bed, it was dark in her room and the only light came from the moon outside the window.
She leaned an ear close to the wall to listen.
She couldn't hear some kind of noise. Of an animal? No, that can't be right.
She listened closer with shut eyes.
She tried to imagine it.
She tried to imagine it when she heard another thump.
Someone hit their back to the wall.
And she heard something quiet yet audible and it was...
"Please, stop..! Arghk--ughh--! Help..!"
Choking.
"Heek--!?!??" She flinched, almost screaming when she shoved herself away from the door.
Pulling herself away and off to her bed.
She pulled the covers over her head with trembling hands.
Her hands felt numb.
It must've been because she played the piano after already playing half a day from classes.
She couldn't take her mind off of how the knife was so close to her skin. It felt like prickling needles that wanted her to nudge pulling away from it.
"Stop it..! Don't think about it!!"
She shook her head wincing a shut-eye.
She breathed heavily and suddenly. It happened again.
