20: Snake

[Warning: Death, Snake, Fire]

Luz looked up and her eyes widened.

"W... Why did you get up from the couch..?" She smiled wanting to just muse everything away.

Amity frowned.

She could already see and feel Luz's shaky hands.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

Luz meekly laughed.

"I... I don't want to make it look like I'm dependent when you're around." She muttered, feeling her legs giving up on her due to the fear right behind her.

The only thing separating her and the case of burning was a wall, with a tall archway.

"I-I'm not weak, ok..!?" She sputtered before accidentally slipping back and hitting the wall behind her.

"Eek--!" She shrieked at the sudden fall that she dragged Amity with her.

Amity didn't fall on her but took a step forward.

Luz's hands were shaking a lot.

"Do you have a phobia or a trauma?" Amity asked.

Luz gulped.

"Get your ass over here you fucking skank!!!" Afreen's loud shout felt deafening, it caused Luz to flinch by it.

"Sorry... I haven't taken my medicine right now since I haven't had dinner yet..." Luz muttered.

She wanted to curl up and just hide now.

Her breathing slowly became shallow and heavy yet erratic and faltering.

"Are you having a panic attack?" Amity wondered when a light orb flew beside them.

"I... I'm scared..! She's gonna kill me!" Luz sniffled.

"Fucking bitch--you--??!"

Afreen froze.

Amity showed her fangs in absolute rage.

"W... Why are you..?" The fire in her hand slowly died as a large dark snake slithered behind her with a loud hiss.

She was eaten whole by the magical thing.

Luz was crying crocodile tears.

"Luz." Amity placed a hand on her shoulder.

Luz was still clutching Amity's jacket, her face was buried in her too.

"Luz." Amity patted her shoulder.

Luz nodded.

Amity hummed.

At least, she can hear her.

"Get off of me, I'll smell like snot and tears." She huffed.

"Amity..! Please, please just... Just stay still... Just a little bit more..." Luz sniffled hiding a hiccup behind her throat after finally calming her nervous system from shaking.

Amity grabbed the light orb Luz unconsciously summoned and drowned it in dark magic with one hand.

She stayed still there. Blinking, she looked around before catching sight of him.

Alador smiled waving.

She growled at the mere presence.

But, he didn't really stay too long. He must've just decided to get up from his sleep to check on her. For the fifth time today.

She stared at the wall in front of her.

She wasn't sure how long she had to be still here.
