You looked down as Ymir's body was brought up towards the top of the wall. You could see Christa talking to Hange, most likely defending Ymir being a titan shifter. There was another titan shifter besides Eren, just how many more were there?
You walked over to where Eren and Reiner were sitting. You wandered around, pacing on the stone. It was cold and dreary out, which fit the mood. You looked over to see Armin shoot up the wall, Eren grabbing him and helping him up.
"Tell him Armin and Y/N." Reiner said as Armin looked up at him. "Huh?" You turned around "Remember the time I almost got crushed in that titan's hand?" Reiner clenched his fist, as his his other arm was sitting in a sling.
"That makes twice I've nearly died. At this rate, I'll be dead before you know it." Reiner continued to ramble on as you stepped closer. "Reiner... You can't think like that." You stood behind him and grabbed his shoulder. "It's like a soldier's spirit breaks down before their body. Though until we plug up this wall, there's no time to waste whining about it." Reiner said as he looked to Eren.
"You two have been driven far enough away from your hometown." Eren looked out beyond at the rubble of Utgard Castle. "I'm thinking... this is where we got to draw the line.-" "He's right, Reiner!" Bertholdt jumped in and interrupted Reiner.
Your eyes widened as you looked down at Reiner. There was something in his eyes that gave you the chills. "Our hometown! Let's return!" Bertholdt stretched his arms out, looking worried at Reiner. "Compared to all the trouble we've been through, what's left to do is nothing." Bertholdt bent down to eye level with Reiner.
You stepped back a little bit, trying to gauge the situation. "We're so close, it's just another few steps till the end." You heard Reiner whisper to Bertholdt. "What are you guys talking about?" You and Eren spoke in unison as you all stared at Reiner and Bertholdt.
You looked to Armin, who was just as confused as you and Eren. Behind Armin, Conny climbed up the wall, Mikasa grabbing onto his arm and helping him up. You spotted Sasha, as well as Hange and her assistant Moblit. For a minute you forgot about Reiner and Bertholdt.
A Garrison member also appeared, joining the other group. "We spent all night but at least between Trost and Krolva District, there's nothing wrong with the wall." You heard the Garrison member and frowned as you looked down at the wall. "Did you actually look? You're not drunk?"
Eren walked with Armin towards Hannes, the Garrison member. "I didn't drink! Why are you all here anyways?" You walked over to the group that formed in front of Hannes. The rain began to pick up and it began to soak your clothing. "for now, we're falling back to Torts district!" Hange shouted as the scouts members.
"Don't let your guard down." Hannes looked to you and the trio as he leapt off the wall and zoomed away. "There's nothing wrong with the wall?" Eren muttered to himself, staring off again. You looked back at Reiner and Bertholdt as they stood behind the crowd.
You began to follow the others towards Hange, but Reiner caught your attention. "Eren." Reiner called after him and you slowed your pace. You tried hard to listen in on their conversation, but you couldn't hear through the rain. You saw Mikasa stop and look towards the three boys. You stopped as well and focused on them.
"If you agree to come with us, we won't have to destroy any more of the walls." You gasped when you heard the words from Reiner's mouth. So Armin's hunch was right. A while ago at a briefing, Armin put together that Reiner and Bertholdt could have been involved with Annie.
"If you were really the armored titan that wants to destroy the humanity... why would you be asking me this in the first place?" you moved closer to them and looked to Mikasa. There was a loud clanging as the flag snapped off, tumbling down the side of the wall.
